Just a FYI: there's now a built-in command /deleteblocks that removes map blocks using minetest.delete_area(). Might be worth a try.

interesting feature, but Ten has found a script that re-generates bugged areas and preserves protection and buildings.
hope it works as good as it sounds.

If I use the /deleteblocks command then any building in that area will be lost also... Typically I used WorldEdit to renew everything in that area in the hope of weedling out the glitch but thankfully the new script goes through the WHOLE map and does the same :)

I tend to mark the area with a boundary of 80 blocks either side beforehand, that way I dont have to be next to the glitch...

Quick note with Lag's sweet script, if you use it...

Of course make a backup first of map file.

I have used the unexplored script and it works amasingly well, totally useful. :-)

The only bug I notice is in map gen and cavegen, since the code seems to change quite a bit to the point where older maps will regen with chunk boundary cliffs, so that is the only thing you should notice at first, so do a test offline and explore to see result. Also, I believe it will only save map blocks that have items placed by player like cobble, torch, wood etc. You can change this in the script.

I hope everything gets resolved, Xanadu has tens of thousands of man hours put into it.

Titanius upgraded his modem and cables a few days ago. this caused the adress to change again.
in case you didn't see it already, it's 98.166.90.48 port 30000.

some funny picture:

i found a sand monster with spider-hair :D

news from the Underworld Project:

i made great progress today.
the almost all remains of the old stairs have been removed from the shaft.
the first platform has been build.
the next area has been framed with glass. now the lava inside has to be cleared.
some serious obsidian mining awaits. if you want to help or build in the Underworld, prepare some pickaxes and a water bucket.

the name "Underworld" is used too often, so the Underworld Town will be name "Utgard" (underworld in norse mythology)

here is a picture of the place for the Underworld ship:
screenshot_20150706_192139.png
screenshot_20150706_192139.png (676.07 KiB) Viewed 3424 times

i will ask Ten to add more lava on the right side, i plan to make a magma river for the ship there.
but first i must prepare the shape.

to join the Utgard Project (formerly Underworld Project) send me a PM or contact me in-game (Red_Fox).
if you want to build in Utgard you must fulfill the following conditions:
- be able to use materials other than cobble
- be able tu build shapes other than cubes
- know how to use the craft guide and make decorative blocks
- know how to use the screwdriver
- combine different colours and/or materials tasteful and stylish

the style of Utgard is antique and/or medieval.
modern or futuristic buildings are not wanted.

Sol Sanctum is now officially open!

you can find the Sol Sanctum at the new designed spawn area of the Stone Stargate.
Sol Shop sells hot stuff and Luna Shop sells cool stuff.
the main attraction are the shops for lava orbs and teleport potions.
my prices are on the same level as those in me2's popular green warp store.

the Inner Sanctum is still under construction, but it is already open for visitors.
but the entrance is hidden ...
only those who can see the truth may enter.

some people found it out right away, because they know the tricks of advanced architecture and have seen right trough it. =(0.0)=
some people have found it just by dumb luck. =(-.-)=
some people had a hard time to find out, just like i had planned. =(^.^)=
Image
can you see the truth?

(Roman999_Rus was not inside that time, the name just floated around in that direction.)

you can find it in the Noob Area.
the Sea Shop sells fishing rods and worms, corals and seaweed, as well as sea stone blocks.
it will also sell cooked fish and sushi.
you can pay with iron and copper lumps.

I had a house, and Dylan5 had one beside me, and yet when I return, neither are to be found.

In place is some completely different house and garden owned by BellaBestBuilder. What's up with that?

I am certain it's the right location. I tried to dig underneath to see if my mine was still there, but I can't get to that either, because apparently the access to my mine is owned by BellaBestBuilder as well.

Yeah they were protected. I had at least a doz prot blocks mapped out in voxel-perfect-grid-formation to cover the area.

My place had a truncated pyramid roof with a garden on top, and his was made out of blue wood.

Just before the server-swap, so approx 2 weeks.

can you tell us the coordinates? (press F5)
some places (like spawn2 have building rules and buildings that break the rules are removed if they are not changed.

Sketch2, The place you had your house was spawn2. The rules of spawn2 state that any build there has to fit the theme. If it does not, the build will be removed. Your base was removed, unfortunately, because it did not fit the theme. For your next base, there are plenty of other places that do not have rules, and that are right on the main roads. There is a new teleporter (orange) that takes you to an area where there is plenty of build space close by. I am sorry about your build in spawn2, but this shows that this is the best server of all, because rules are strictly enforced. Thanks to the admins and moderators for enforcing these rules.

I was invited there by someone from that community. They showed me a way by following the red path, 'round the public mine, then dropping to the bottom of a water portal. She then led me down a road to a place right beside her house.

Where's due diligence? You could have easily contacted me on the forum and ask me about it. People in the Minetest IRC know me. Dylan5 is 10, you can't expect him to read every sign he comes across. He reads many, but you can't expect him to know what territory Spawn2 consists of. That's too vague.

I specifically asked in the chat "where's a good place to build" and that's where I was led. Nobody told me there was a building code. Nobody told me I was at Spawn2. I don't even know what Spawn2 is. I didn't see rules posted. You can't hold me to rules I never saw.

I understand. You will have to contact bonny for more details. I only know that The build did not fit the rules, and that bonny placed a warning sign. Again I am sorry for your loss.
