Red Tint

by botch » Tue Jul 14, 2015 04:51

Seriously? I've made a recent forced move back to Microsoft Windows from Linux and now accessing a fresh download of Minetest, everything has a red tint to it. The mushroom stalks, the sand, the dirt, trees, everything.

What in the world is going on?

...AND ... I followed instructions to not put it under "Program Files" like all of the other freaking junk that Microsoft trys to push on you when you have a new Windows OS on your computer.

I think the shaders might be the problem. That or you need to use opengl not directx. It's been a while since I heard of the problem and can't remember for sure which but if you do a search for minetest and either shaders or directx you'll probably find the one you need.

I just downloaded a previous version 0.4.10 64 bit, same thing, red tint. Is it a Microsoft Windows thing? I'm going into Minetest withdrawl.

Or maybe it's your:
-Sight
-Screen
-Bad mood because of the red tint
-Graphics card
-PC
-Eyes (again)
-Lighting of the room
-Sun light
-A weird visual illusion

Provide screenshorts and more data. Also, don't multipost, edit instead.

Botch , did you try to use it with opengl instead of directx like Lionsden suggested ?
I seem to recall that fixed it for somebody else with the same issue.
( you don't mention if you have tried it yet or not )

Also try updating your opengl drivers.

If nothing works, then you'll have to disable shaders :(

As it turns out, I did not have the correct drivers installed on my corporate spyware that spys on me. I upgraded to the latest spyware (Windows 10) and all works well with Minetest. No more red tint. Man I miss Linux.
