"GLSL not available"?

by 12Me21 » Wed Mar 06, 2013 20:52

For some reason, minetest will not work on my laptop. When you open it, the minetest screen is transparent (you can only see the border) and it says "GLSL not available". Can someone help me? Also, has anyone else experienced this problem?

I have a windows 7 computer. Try using a build from xyz because that works with me
Coding;
1X coding
3X debugging
12X tweaking to be just right

I just noticed this:
It says "GLSL not available", which it doesn't say when it works

GLSL is the OpenGL Shading Language; maybe your system doesn't support shaders. Try adding "enable_shaders = 0" to your minetest.conf.

I am on the Voxelands Forums more often than here.

But I think there is more than just GLSL that is making minetest not work.

I was right (unfortunately) it was because my graphics card is too old to play the game. I guess I will only get to play minetest when I can use my other computer, but luckily, I am getting a new computer soon. (well, actually it's not new, but it is faster than any of my other computers) The next time I can play minetest is on Friday (after school)

Then you do something wrong. Minetest doesnt use any shaders at all if you disable them, either in the settings menu or in minetest.conf
