Haha, like it. Should be in official game IMO, to have more originality compared to Minecraft.
PS: haven't tried it. How powerful and how long does the coal tools last?
PS 2: If possible, coal blocks should be DM fireball-proof... :)

Edit: Celeron said it's not possible, but "dm will be re-implemented in lua at some point and it will be made better then"

If coal is powerful like iron, then what's the point? It should differ anyway. Maybe add abitily to use this tool as a fuel?

Not to be harsh, but I don't see the point of this mod. What's the point of having coal tools if they are just as powerful as the iron ones (given that iron ores are not that more rare than coal ores) ?

Also a tool made of coal doesn't make sense, its really unrealistic.

However, if the coal blocks can be used as storage blocks, it's really a good addition to the game.

If they are just iron tools with different crafting items then they are way too powerful.

Looks fun, will try it out :) In reality, tools made of coal would break the second you'd pick them up from the ground, so for minimal realism I wouldn't suggest defaulting it. But as a mod, awesome!

Well... IMO coal is a LOT easier to come by than iron, and especially mese. So to be able to craft tools from coal is great because then we can use it (coal) for fuel and weapons etc. Let's build an alchemist mod for those of us who love to mix. It could be useful for alloys and other

Use averaged amounts between stone and iron. That way, it isnt that unbalanced.
