Thieves' Favorite Blocks

In addition to pure vandalism where any kind of block is taken just to damage buildings it seems there are also thieves around. They pick specific parts while leaving the rest of the building more or less alone. Most popular items are * bookshelves * mese * signs * fences * jungle grass * ladders * ...

Could people PLEASE stop building houses in the sky??? Because when you look at the map you see a bunch of ugly gray squares instead of the ground below. It looks like a griefer took out a giant chunk of the land. If I could I'd get rid of them but I don't want to grief. So please, no more. If the ...

Cheater

There are too many cheaters playing Minetest. Run or fly for a few minutes to some remote location just to be followed all the time by other players with much higher speed. No way to hide, no chance to get away. Just hope they don't steal. I saw other people build complex objects in no time without ...

ATM the workaround is to build a furnace and dump 6 stacks of items inside. Chests would work, too but I usually have way more stone than planks. Most of the time you or someone else can use the material later on so why waste it?

Stalker

Playing on a public server. My buildings are far away from spawn. Suddenly another player was standing right next do me. He said noting and was just watching me. No answer when I talked to him. But he moved right in my way all the time. Strange, but there were only us two on the server so I hoped he...

Every time I log in on a public server I have to repair my buildings. Even the houses far away from spawn get greifed. While this shows that someone was looking at them I really don't like collecting even more books, wood or bricks just to have them stolen again. This is no fun any more. So now I ha...

Improved Font?

Is there a texture pack with a font that works better with light backgrounds like clouds? The current one is almost unreadable on some backgrounds. Maybe white text with black outline?

RLY? On my local server I have auth.txt with "Heinrich" as well as "heinrich" and "HeInRicH". All different accounts. Oh, maybe if I'd use a case insensitive FAT-file system the inventories from world/players would end up in the same file for all of them. Now that would be a great way to steal other...

3 - it's up to the "installed" players to build some nice things in the spawn area to "showcase" the server and then build their beloved hometowns far away from the spawn... For me the whole point of building on a public server is to show my stuff. If I build great things in a hidden far out locati...

What about a bucket which allows you to collect water from the sea? Without destroying "endless" water, limited water can be drained. The collected water is just enough to fill one block and evaporates after a while if it takes up more than one block. So you can build your private swimming pool or s...

Case Insensitive Player Names

When there is already a user "Joe" on the server it should not be possible to create "joe" as well. Instead "Joe" should be able to log in to his account in a case independent way.

Move 10 Items in Inventory

In Inventory left click moves the stack, right click moves one object. When crafting eg. bricks or signs you have to put the same resource in different places, usually from the same stack. Lots of clicks required. What about shift-click moves ten items from a stack to destination? This would save lo...

Dropped Tools Disappear

When I drop a tool with 0.2.20110704_0 it just disappears and seems to be gone. Happens all the time when you press right mouse button to place a torch but the pickaxe is still selected. Edit minetest.conf:
Your phone or window isn't wide enough to display the code box. If it's a phone, try rotating it to landscape mode.
Code: Select all
keymap_forward = KEY_UP
keymap_backward = KEY_DOWN
keymap_left = KEY_LEFT
keymap_right = KEY_RIGHT

So that's why all these useless columns exist on kray's. :-)

Usually I build a furnace and dump stuff I don't need ATM it in there. Way faster than building pillars because you can move stacks with 99 blocks. A chest would work, too but I never have wood to waste, just stones.

IIRC I saw signs standing upright on s public server. But I did not manage to create one. Just signs lying on the floor.

BTW, is it possible to somehow insert a linefeed in the sign's test?
