Re: [Game]/[World] Tutorial [1.8.2]/[2.1.0]

cesarpachon - Try removing the immortal group. I read your comment on github. Totally agree with you. The end user should be the focus for any project. No matter how well you make a game if it isn't what people want then it will fail. One issue with Minetest is there is a lot of different things to ...

Re: unkown objects

I totally understand your concern. I would also like to see a better way of dealing with unknown nodes and objects.
I will have to put some thought into it and see if I can come up with a solution. Don't expect anything. I am just thinking out loud.

Re: unkown objects

/clearobjects removes entities such as dropped items. I don't think it removes unknown nodes.

A solution would be to create aliases for the nodes.

Re: Invalid Block Data in Database

I think you did this already but I will put it in here anyway. Open your minetest.conf file in a text editor. Add this line ignore_world_load_errors = true Another option is to start up the game and in chat type /clearobjects This might take a little time depending on the size of your map. If this i...

Re: [Mod] mydoors [mydoors]

There seems to be some kind of conflict with this mod and the default doors on the most recent version, when I have any part of MyDoors enabled, the game crashes and the debug text is pointing at scripts for both the mod and a default game one. Are you running the dev version of minetest? The lates...

Re: Post your mod requests/ideas here

set_bones_position is what you need to use for rotation of body parts. The players table will have the skin texture in it. http://dev.minetest.net/LuaEntitySAO This is the default player from minetest_game. Might be a good reference. https://github.com/minetest/minetest_game/blob/master/mods/default...

Re: [Game] Dungeontest (very WIP)

a little question, why i could only dig,buy could'nt put down anything? This game is not like minetest_game. Game play is very different. Building and mining are not a part of the game play. The game is still a work in progress as the title suggests. It is meant as an adventure type game instead of ...

Re: Post your modding questions here

just a quick, kinda doppie question. I have a mod which just adds some new building blocks, do I need to submit it somewhere before I can post it up for others to download? Or is it just a free-for-all sort of deal? You post your mod in the wip section. When you feel it is ready for release you sub...

Re: Performance impact of mods

Mods that use a lot of abm's will cause poor performance. Mapgens will slow things down when the map blocks load. Mobs slow things down a lot if there are many mobs in the area. Ambience should be fine in single player but on a server it has to send those file across the network. Mods that add lots ...

Re: Post your modding questions here

Did you try to add minetest.after? Give it a second to make sure it loaded. Then it might find air. Else you could look for air and ignore. I had to do that in one of my mods to make sure it got the right count after using minetest.forceload_block.
