Are you sure? I think Minetest save user data and world data in separate folder. Like normal compile.

I think this should be database error. Because no matter what the browser is used, it will give the same error.

I think it will run Minetest (even with lag sometimes). Make sure you close other unused app to add more room for MInetest. I've tried to run on Pentium 4 2.8GHz with only 1 GB RAM and it still worked well (10~15 FPS in 40 nodes of viewing range).
