Re: Realistic Survival Ideas

race specific craft should be pretty hard to do :/ There has to be a custom inventory or crafting place that checks the race value of the user and compares it with the race value of the tool he wants to craft and either place the crafted item in the output slot of that inventory or crafting place o...

Re: Should we rename Minetest? (poll)

This would cause a shit-ton ow work in the API and will affect all mods ever released. There either has to be an uber fat compatibility layer or a hard cut. So IF there ever will be a rename it should be done when finally reaching version 1.0. So "Minetest" will be the test/beta/etc. versi...

Re: Mehrere Items aus einem Block...

Entschuldige die Falschaussage, habe es oben korrigiert. Na ja, "Falschaussage". Also generell stimmt es schon.

Re: I cant Get my server on the server list..

any help??? You computer has to forward the port to the application (acutally it's quite different from that but the result can be described like that). If this is done by configuring it in the "Windows Firewall", thats okay. Next step is that you need to configure your router to forward ...

Re: [Modpack] Dreambuilder [20170326-0052]

Development builds of Minetest are not normally considered "experimental", and anyway the 0.4.15 build is a zip from the last commit that was 0.4.15-compatible, so it may as well be a tag. But ... but .. it's Git. No-one wants to mess around with zip files in the year 2017 :) But yes, you...

Re: [Modpack] Dreambuilder [20170326-0052]

Why don't create a tag for the last version that works with the release version of Minetest? No need for branches or "forcing" users to install an experimental version of Minetest just for using your mod(s).

Re: Client-sided modding: Good or bad?

Yes, a cheater could compile a modified client, but I think having client mods loaded from the client makes the barrier to cheating too low, compared to if the player had to recompile Minetest with cheats or seek out a modified build from someone else. Yes, exactly THIS is an issue here. OF COURSE ...

Re: Client-sided modding: Good or bad?

You download an "X-ray mod" like [oredetect] and install it as client-side mod. Really? Really really? That's ridiculous, if that is true. It is. As I was told client-side mods can see anything that the client can already see. And since the client can see all ores client-side mods can see...

But you can't install these mods on the client. You have to load them from the server. Or did I miss something? That's the point here. You download an "X-ray mod" like [oredetect] and install it as client-side mod. Now you can use the mod on every server you want without the server knowin...

Your phone or window isn't wide enough to display the code box. If it's a phone, try rotating it to landscape mode.
Code: Select all
