Re: [Modpack] Creatures MOB-Engine [2.2.1] [cme]

It falls to the ground.

And, strangely enough just noticed that when trying to eat the eggs (again) regained health, without consuming the eggs.

[edit] actually, it was just the regeneration effect of having the hunger bar full (from hud_hunger mod)

Re: [Modpack] Creatures MOB-Engine [2.2.1] [cme]

As it is, what are eggs for in the mod? It seems I'm unable to either cook or eat them raw. A loose end to be reviewed later on?

Re: [Mod] Mobs Redo [1.04] [mobs]

The abnormal behaviour displaying mobs was gone just as it appeared. Most probably an error as I added the mod in an already created world or perhaps an issue with another mod. On another line: compiling a document with all the workings (a.k.a "users manual") for this mod would be a good i...

Re: [Mod] Mobs Redo [1.04] [mobs]

I was redirect here from the original mod thread.

Somehow, in my system, all creatures are displayed with an error. All I get are pink boxes.

Re: [Mod] Simple Mobs [mobs]

Is this mod still being supported?

I've tried to add it to my game and it won't work due to a mod error.

Persistent server error

I'm having a persistent error with my installation of Minetest, as the engine keeps announcing it has found a SQL database error. The message is as follows: ERROR[Serverthread]:WARNING: Block failed to save (x, y, z) SQL logic error or missing database The "funny" thing is the set of blocks the erro...

Evergreen

Kudos for you for the great tips. I believe I can get my hands dirty with this and try it out. Just one thing: by using an ore template, won't the oysters spawn inside the block instead atop of it?

Topywo

I'll check your suggestion, as well. Thanks.

Guidelines for creating a very, very, very basic mod

First and before anything else: I have absolutely no experience in coding so the very most basic pointers will mean a lot for me. How and what I have came up with I was enjoying some fresh oysters when suddenly it came to me that it could be very interesting having it in Minetest. Some reasons it w...

That makes some sense. I was, in fact, strip mining a quarry in one world and there was, actually, a large cave underneath my home base in another. Doesn't make that much sense the game engine keeping a dark spot where it used to be a mountain, if you level it. You remove the light-blocking blocks s...

Planting saplings does work, however it seems to be somewhat of a temporary solution. After planting and cutting some trees, the effect seems to be ignored, as the permanent dark spot inhibits the saplings to sprout into full grown trees. Even with torches around, the saplings seem to be unable to g...

IF it was the case, the permanent shade spot would appear as soon as it generate the world.

The dark spots I've came up with always generate on and around the place where I build my base of operations.

Bug, glitche or something else?

I've encountered in some worlds I've played a strange behavior of the game engine where sun won't light up the area surrounding the building I use to spend the night and store excess inventory items. This creates a permanent dark spot in the world. I can place torches to create light but even so it ...

Writing mods - a few basic questions.

Although I'm running the current stable version of Minetest, with all the commotion around mods for Minetest, I've decided I want to risk it and try to make a mod myself. Because I want to learn how to program, although it won't be exactly that, it will be a start. However, I do have a few questions...

Let's start by the basics: Bedroll and futon Bedroll should be easy and simple to craft and, most important, portable, only allowing the player to spend the night but bot reset spawn point. Futon should be harder to craft. Not portable, would allow night spending and spawn point relocation. Door, wi...

For Linux users, you can use gedit; its simple and expandable to insanity. For window$, I agree with the Notepad++ choice.

I still haven't dared to try and make a mod but I'm planning to do it.

Found it while doing some aerial survey, out of pure boredom. There isn't a torch down there; I had never been to that place before and my building location is a long way from this particular spot.

[stable version] disapearing grass

I'm making some landscaping on my map and I keep noticing that sometimes the grass simply disappears over large areas. It seems its caused by the removal of a given block. For inventory UI I suggest a slightly bigger crafting area to allow more crafting recipes. That would make game-play even more easy than already is. Inventory craft space should (must) be cut down and more workspaces should be created; the craftsman's table would be a good start. I've already sugge...
