Re: [Mod] External Commands [2] [external_cmd]

I could not make '/teleport' to work either way (or '/home' for that matter) Did you either set a server admin (the 'name' option in the conf file) or create a special user 'SERVER' with all privs? The mod requires one of those, so it can tell minetest who the commands are being sent by. If you cre...

Why not use LevelDB? EEhmm..my 100MB sqlite3 map took over 30 minutes to migrate to LevelDB. and that * 35.74 gives 1072 minutes or ~18 hours. Does that indicate how fast LevelDB is? No Does that indicate how LevelDB performs on normal usage? No Towards the end of my 0.4.x server's life I migrated ...

Names aren't handled in lua, so they aren't in builtin. There's no way of completely removing them, but you can only show them to nearby players with this setting:
Your phone or window isn't wide enough to display the code box. If it's a phone, try rotating it to landscape mode.
Code: Select all
unlimited_player_transfer = false

Shut down server, add that to ~/.minetest/minetest.conf, start the server.

I don't think this sort of game should have any sort of winning scenario. The "goal" is to just build/do whatever you want, not try to "win".

Another update. Same link for the updated win32 client, see first post.

Adds crowbars that rotate nodes (instead of screwdrivers. really, 0.4?), incinerators to destroy trash, and fences and walls can no longer be jumped over. Under the hood there was also a revamp of crafting.

A better way would be to begin typing minetest, then press TAB. That will autocomplete the name. TAB is your friend whenever there's a long filename you don't want to type out.

They make sense. Not all subgames will have trees, water, or creative mode, so why should these settings be coded into the engine itself?

1. I don't think that there should be a creative mode setting. Instead, I think that there should be separate subgames/games/whatever for different modes of playing.

3. Maybe the wording could be generalized so it reads "Opaque Liquids". I think that is what it does anyway.
