It actually works. I have been using the spotlights which shines upward. Too bad you can't place anything ontop of it while the lights are on. Nice and thank you, I assume they are "free" as Hedgewars is opensource too. Giving flags different functions is cool. If a person wants to burn a flag, they are most likely burning flags, not playing Minetest. :P All country flags will be treated equally! And for aesthetic reasons will be burnable....

Maybe you'll like my rope mod. It does the same only in reverse. Your tall ladder idea is cool but how hard is it to build a tall ladder atm? Unless ofcourse you want to build it straight into the air...

No glitches or erros, I really don't like the square looking biomes though. Snow should be patchy and not square. On mountain tops and in more southern and northern biomes. Or more at the center of the biome. But most importanly, not square. I'm working on a mod that does exactly that. Ones i'm done...
