Re: WorldPainter support?

Pre-edit: oh, looks like his response is already complete :rotfl:

Just FYI, I for one would be very interested in seeing something like this. However, the MT developers can give a lot more info on this than I can, so I'll leave it to them (and Krock, seeing as told me he was preparing a response).

Re: How to create a map loosely based on real geo of Canada?

Hey, I'm Canadian too :D Now, yes it's possible. As to how much work it would take to do, don't ask me. However, paramat might be able to give you some pointers on this as he does much of the MT mapgen dev. If you'd like, join IRC and ask him. Again, it is possible, but it will either be as easy as ...

Re: Console is slowpoke

AFAIK, this is not a direct issue with Minetest or the console. Instead, it is an issue with Irrlicht (the engine used by Minetest). Issues related to this have been discussed before, and I believe the solution at this point is to make sure you have to latest release of Irrlicht. At the times the is...

Re: [Mod] Functional Lua Computers [0.5.2] [digicompute]

An example would be something like while true do x = x + 1 end And not have it get interrupted, if it doesn't finish in one frame it just continues in the next. Ah, I understand. First off, executing a command like that will cause the computer to time out, rather than creating any major issues. Sec...

Re: [Mod] Functional Lua Computers [0.5.2] [digicompute]

Any plans to allow computations to take longer than one tick, without manual handling of program state? EDIT: Oh, I think I did misunderstand. You're asking if computations will get lost if they take longer than one tick because the program state could be lost. From my testing, this is not an issue...

Re: [MOD]Camera: Record your flight[WIP]

>edit: I was just thinking..., would it be possible to set /home as the default save-to folder, similar to using F12 for screenshots? and save as AVI? Also, is there not an unused feature button in MT? somewhere within F9-F11 which could be used to turn recording on and off...? I'm just suggesting ...

Re: [Mod] Functional Lua Computers [0.5.2] [digicompute]

hajo: Well, I guess that statement isn't quite correct. Computers will be able to do numerous things that would be considered "interacting with the world," but they will definitely not be able to break blocks and stuff like that as it wouldn't make sense because they cannot move. The will,...

Re: [Mod] MicroExpansion [0.1] [microexpansion]

What I was doing: I rightclicked in the place to put an 4K Storage Cell with a full stack of memory cell. Edit: The crash is when I put a memory cell in the place for memory cell in the chest. Now, for those of you who would like to try this out, see the OP. However, please note that ME currently r...

Re: [Mod] MicroExpansion [0.1] [microexpansion]

Well, I said it was coming, so here it is. I've restarted the development process making my own textures along the way. At the time of writing, there is a 4k ME cell and an ME chest (thanks, Amaz!) available. Using the ME chest, you can interact with items in the storage cell. At the moment there ar...

Re: [Mod] Functional Lua Computers [0.5] [digicompute]

Wow hajo! That was a LOT in one post xD So, let's get started. I have not yet been able to finish the OS itself, meaning that all the basics will be unavailable until then. There will unlikely be many examples built in as this is meant to be a Linux-like OS, however, commands will be documented in t...

Re: [Mod] In-Game Formspec Creator [debugger]

hey dont make my work bad ;-P Is a mod with chat command+additional priv easier to uses then a subgame? not really imo. the crash on exit was fixed a long time ago, and all the formspec elements works as expected. Re: [MOD]Camera: Record your flight[WIP]

For those of you who are interested in this mod, a few new features are coming. As sofar mentioned in the updated OP, the mod is now licensed under the MIT license and in the minetest-mods organization. Not only that, but the mod no longer uses an item to start or play recordings, but rather uses a ...

Re: [Mod] Functional Lua Computers [0.5.2] [digicompute]

The mod is now fully functional on Windows from this commit onwards. Note: I have not yet released a new version with the abov...

Re: [Mod] In-Game Formspec Creator [debugger]

What is the significant difference between your mod and this ? Not much at all, except for the fact that it's a mod, not a subgame, meaning it is easier to use. Not only that, but it is far more stable than the other (e.g. you can exit without crashing the game, formspecs are saved per-player when ...

Re: Does adding more nodes....

Well, of course, if you add a huge amount of stuff to the game it will take more resources. However, with Minetest RAM is not really an issue, unless you are keeping a huge number of chunks rendered (i.e. you have viewing range set to a high setting). What Minetest really uses, is CPU. If you have a...

Re: What's the minimum number of nodes for a game?

Well, with this in mind, I must say that this does not mean the nodes are registered in the engine. Air is registered in MTG, found it a while ago, it's called "You hacker you." Cloud is also registered as default:cloud. So I don't think any nodes are actually registered in the core, but j...

As far as I know, nothing content-related is coded in the engine. I thought it was literally an engine anyways.

Could you link some code to show this?
