Re: [64×] Misa's texture pack converted to Minetest [2014-04

Modern Hippie wrote:Is it no longer available to download this texture pack?
Looks like the download link is broken.. :/

Fixed, see first post of this topic for updated download link. Note that I'm not maintaining this texture pack anymore, it will miss many textures that were added since 2014.

Re: [32×] Faithful texture pack converted to Minetest

Can I convert texturepacks on Linux without Minecraft? No, if it's a third-party resource pack, you can do the conversion yourself (or write/find a script that does part of it for you). You do need a copy of Minecraft to convert the default resource pack though. You can do either of these just fine...

I don't really have time to maintain it anymore, so it doesn't contain the new nodes added to Minetest 0.4.15.

Re: [Debian / Ubuntu] 1-line script: install Minetest Git

I really want to add some customizations to my minetest because I don't have much experience with C++. This script won't work on Debian. I've seen things that work, but nothing yet that works that I can also change the source code and recompile. I think it has to do with there being missing librari...

You can't run the latest minetest_game with Minetest 0.4.14. You can get minetest_game for 0.4.14 here: https://github.com/minetest/minetest_ga ... 0.4.14.zip

Re: [Debian / Ubuntu] 1-line script: install Minetest Git

I switched from Ubuntu 16.04 to the latest Debian testing today, and tried different ways to install Minetest with git. I've done it before just fine with Ubuntu. Here is what I got each time: The build-essential package should normally always install GCC (which lets you compile C/C++ code). Altern...

Ubuntu 16.10 has upgraded to libpng16 instead of libpng12, you should both compile and run using that version.

Re: Are Textures Like This Possible In Minetest?

Why not? Minetest supports HD textures just like Minecraft does now. Shader effects such as normal and parallax maps are even available (this is possible in Minecraft too, using client mods).

Re: minecraft mod mobs models for minetest mobs?

I believe Minecraft models are not entirely compatible with Minetest's supported model formats (.obj, .b3d, .x, .md2). Moreover, If the license doesn't allow for it, there's no point since the original author could ask you to take them down. And even if it was allowed, you'd be better off using mode...

Re: Please stop using WTFPL

Does it make sense to use unlicense for textures? Should DWYWPL be allowed? The Unlicense is targeted at code, but you can use CC0 1.0 on anything (code, artwork, …) since it's public domain dedication (or a very permissive license in case public domain is not possible). Both are compatible with th...

Re: How to make underwater less dark?

Try adding display_gamma = 1.0 to your minetest.conf (or use the Advanced Settings menu present in Minetest 0.4.14 and later). Lower values make darker areas brighter (the minimum is 1.0).

Did you clone the minetest_game repository in the games/ folder of the Minetest engine clone, like this (once opening a terminal in the Minetest Git clone)?

Your phone or window isn't wide enough to display the code box. If it's a phone, try rotating it to landscape mode.
Code: Select all
