Version Numbering of latest builds?

Hi folks, I am a bit confused about which version of Minetest actually loads on my Ubuntu "Precise Pangolin" computer: I have received an update through my update manager today, which should be the nightly. But when I launch minetest it prints Minetest-C55 0.4.dev - 20120606 into the upper left edge...

I like the idea of smoothed terrain, trees, water, lava, etc.

BUT, keep in mind that "made" or "built" objects normally have sharp edges and perpendicular fronts. These should not be "smoothed", otherwise, buildings and mineshafts would look quite strange.

Amazing!

Raspberry Pi as Minetest-Server. Crafty, I think we share a hobby (Arduino and Raspberry Pi). I do not have one yet, but I am waiting for it :-)

I agree with Wolfgang and was about to suggest "tables" as new inventory item myself. Could be crafted like O| |0 X|X|X O| |O with O = wood stick, X = Wood plank or any piece of stonelike stuff, with the table's plate designed accordingly. I would love such item Cheers, Stefan

Just my tupence here: I think on a game like minetest, best would be to enable the player to tailor things upon creation of a world. Have a look on how far you can tailor games like Simutrans or OpenTransportTycoon (both transport simulation games) and you see my point. With this enabled everybody c...

After some further checking I want to update my bugreport: The machine, on which the furnace did not get active even with fuel has been updated with a packaged minetest 20110922 release. This installation works now normal, furnace is working. My second machine had an installation which I did not com...

Same operating system used as my pre-poster (Ubuntu 11.04 with Unity). Just, I installed the compiled version through the repository and it works perfectly well with my existing world. Even the previously mentioned issue with the furnace never accepting any fuel (this was a self-compiled version) is...

I started a world a few weeks ago and spawned right next to a giant "natural" cave system. Entrance is almost at sea level and from there it gets down underground. Did not yet fully discover the system, but it contains of several large halls at different levels, which are interconnected. Found at le...

Calinou, as I mentioned above. I *do* know how to operate a furnace. :-) If I put some fuel to the bottom left box of the furnace screen the message is "furnace is inactive" If I add something to smelt into the upper left box, the messages canges to "furnace out of fuel". It does not work in my "tip...

furnace accepts nothing as fuel?

Hi, first of all: Marvellous game. So simple, yet so addictive! However, I have run into a problem with my furnace. I use the "tip.tar.gz" version, self-compiled under Ubuntu Linux 11.04/Unity. Whenever I try to use my furnace and suppy it with anything to roast me a rat, (eg 1 lump of coal, or 10 b...
