Re: [Game] Wasteland [0.3]

Coming back to Minetest after a couple versions (last time I played was with something like 0.4.6), and starting with your game… (minetest 0.4.10 and Wasteland cloned from github) It’s really nice, I’ve been playing it with some music of Mark Morgan and Edwin Montgomery in the background (Wasteland ...

Debian users, enjoy!
Minetest 0.4.8 can be found in Sid official repositories.

I'm going to give it a try soon ;)

I'm not sure to understand your wish: anyone can launch a mumble server at anytime, I've done this for a server for three people (minetest and mumble servers on my PC). You don't need to have something "official". If you can't have it on your own PC, I'm pretty sure you can create a room easily on a...

I post a copy of the README here, 'cause I've been wondering why I had empty folders in mods/ after a simple "git clone": Cloning with git: This repository uses submodules. In order to get all the parts of the game you will need to run 'git submodule update --init' when you clone and 'git submodule ...

In folder ~/.minetest/games, run "git clone https://github.com/RealBadAngel/technic_game ". That's it, you're done! For future updates, go in folder ~/.minetest/games/technic_game and run "git pull". I experienced that kind of lag with some versions of minetest (around 0.4.4~0.4.6), only on a specific computer (not a low-end one) but even in singleplayer mode.
Since upgrading to 0.4.7, I didn't notify any more lag.

You want a minetest_classic game mode?
You can do it, no matter the results of the poll.

It is the point about free software: you can^W should modify whatever you want to make it better.

I think bronze tools are not the real problem here.
Like Calinou said, you don't have to use them.

What I see here is a problem of overcrowded creative inventory.
A redesign of the creative inventory (maybe with categories) would be the most elegant solution.

Okay, I understand better now. And I think that this bones mod is a pretty cool idea! (a shame I died in lava, my bones probably melted) Being a mod, it should be easy to disable too (I won't ^^). Losing stuff on death

Hi all! I had the surprise when testing the last version of minetest (pulled today from git) to lose all my stuff on death. Is it a new feature of 0.4.7? If so, is it configurable? Anyway, I will have to be more careful when messing around lava ^^ ----- Keep up the good work, minetest grow in awesom...

Have you tried to launch it from a console to see if there is any error during loading? It takes less than half a minute here to connect to a local server with a dozen mods. I start telling them about how the engine works. They usually walk away then. If you are talking about high-poly meshes, I think it does not go the Minetest way ;)
And if you are talking about high-res textures, anyone can do a texture pack for any mod, including this one.
