This is a mostly frozen copy of the Minetest forums through 2017. If you know phpBB3 and would like to host any G-rated forum here, you can email: me@minetest.org
If the email doesn't work, find out who's taken over Final Minetest from OldCoder and email them to get write access or an admin account.
I should have set this up years ago. But it's no tale of woe.
Whether the temperature is high or low, regardless of cold winds blow,
away we go like Edgar Allan Poe, on now with the show. BTW rhymes are welcome.
Minetest has some decorative blocks, that are useless, in fact. I think it would be cool if they had some use, e.g. steel blocks could only be broken by player who put them, players could fall to straw without damage and players moved faster on rails.
It's been for a long time, so it's not because of a cloud. I haven't built anything above there. I tried to use //fixlight in worldedit, but it didn't help.
It looks strange, like something big is above, it happened after upgrading to 0.4.11, but not immediately. Restarting the game doesn't work. I use the vanilla minetest_game.
Add "LANG=C" in front of your command to get english output. it doesn't-t work, but now output looks like this (my translation): No package named build-essential No package named libirrlicht-dev No package named libbz2-dev No package named libpng12-dev No package named libjpeg8-dev No package named...
How can I install dependencies on Rosa fresh R2 (based on Mandriva) ? I tried this: $ urpmi build-essential libirrlicht-dev cmake libbz2-dev libpng12-dev libjpeg8-dev libxxf86vm-dev libgl1-mesa-dev libsqlite3-dev libogg-dev libvorbis-dev libopenal-dev libcurl4-gnutls-dev libfreetype6-dev and some pa...
minetest is a good game, but it hasn't enough features in minetest_game. a lot of features can be added by mods, but some new players don't want to install them. also, you shouldn't include lots of mods to minetest_game, because it can make it too slow. So I thing, you should include some mods, that...
i run a new vanilla server. it's protected of griefers. to start playing you should write me a query to anton-tsyganenko@yandex.ru or here. it can look like this: I want to play on your server. I promise that I will be very good, I won't destroy buildings and I won't steal anything. my name is Mynam...
I found one way to do it - use default_password; enable_pvp = false; enable_rollback_recording = true; using default password can make starting playing a bit more difficult; but it's a good protection. rollback is a good thing too. this topic can be interesting not only for me, so you can write othe...
i want to run a server with protection of griefers. it should be vanilla (or look as vanilla for end-user). it should be easy to start playing. please write all ways to do it
I run a vanilla minetest server with jungles and dungeons. everybody is invited to play. the server is running on my laptop, so it's not powerful and can be off sometimes. i have a dynamic IP, so if something doesn't work check it first. the world is new, there is a lot of free space. address: 176.1...
Servers from public list are not vanilla. I can start my own server, but I don't have a dinamic IP, it can't be always on and my computer is not so powerful to run a big server
yes, i know. but if i simply remove # and put them to configuration file, nothing will happend, i don't understand, how should i edit them to create non-default worlds (for example, make flat world, with oceans not deeper than 10 nodes, and mountains not higher than 15 nodes), or this settings influ...
My intentions was to write it into the mod folder because it is a setting of the mod, and has nothing to do with the game itself. When copying the mod into another gamemode the settings file will still be present. It just is logically a part of the mod. Also when we make a decision on how to do it ...
Or for every mod itself. minetest/games/gamemode/mods/modname/settings.example And the settings have the syntax modname_settingname and have to be insert in the global minetest.conf. e.g. minetest_game/mods/fire/settings.example fire_disable = false fire_limit = 256 it's very uncomfortably. i think...
