Re: [8x] webtoon [webtoon]

He is using the ^ to point to MineYoshi's post's +10, and is saying multiply by 10. Roundabout way of saying +100.

In terms of exploration, the grid on the stone is somewhat annoying, I must say.

Re: World climate system idea

Pretty good idea. The whole thing about biomes is one that has been very annoying to me. I hate it when I am building a massive structure (kingdom), and the thing crosses into another biome, like snow.

Re: [Mod] Jump Challenge [0.1] [jump] – get as far as you ca

Using the shift key + fast mode, this would be mindnumbingly boring. Still, if there were variances in height, I might give it a try. It will make you think about it.

Re: Post your mapgen questions here (modding or engine)

Is there a simple way to take the current mapgen and "scale it up" by a factor of X or something easy? So the mountains are taller, the oceans are deeper, the rivers are wider, and things like that? I don't know exactly how the mapgen works, (I have a simplistic idea) so anything you can t...

Re: [Mod] Castles++ Rolling release [0.4.9] [castle]

Hmm. Well, I am trying to think of how roof slates would be made.

Better idea:

Roofslate x 6

Your phone or window isn't wide enough to display the code box. If it's a phone, try rotating it to landscape mode.
Code: Select all
               |     gravel     |
stonebrickslab | stonebrickslab | stonebrickslab

That makes the most sense and is likely not used in any other recipe

Minetest crafting by group

So, I wanted to have a crafting recipe that accepts all types of stonebrick (forgot obsidian_stonebrick, how silly), and all types of cobble, like so: http://i.imgur.com/GTgsvIH.gif However, the issue is in the Minetest code, there are two types of groups. 1 is a simpler stone like natural stone or ...

Re: [Mod] Castles++ Rolling release [0.4.9] [castle]

Actually, I think I need to rework all the crafting recipes. Castle Stonewall 5: group:stonebrick | group:cobble group:cobble | group:stonebrick You use 10 cobble stones to get to this recipe, so the end result should be a little bit off, as the wall has to be strong. The textures might change from ...

Re: [Mod] Castles++ Rolling release [0.4.9] [castle]

There is a craft recipe conflict with moreblocks: cooking gravel --> moreblocks:tar cooking gravel --> castle:roofslate I reported it here, because moreblocks mod is much older than castle. If you think its moreblocks fault, feel free to complain it to moreblocks. I would be happy if it gets resolv...

How complex can Minetest physics get?

So, I was just giving some thought to a couple of mod ideas that might be nice. Is it possible to make something similar to a grappling hook that you can swing aroun on? Something like Teeworlds: http://www.blup.fr/wp-content/uploads/2009_12_02_teeworlds2.jpg Or Trine: http://vignette3.wikia.nocooki...

Re: More stone types

It shouldn't be too hard with Mapgen v7. You can make your own biomes and such, so if you register more biomes, similar to Minecraft's different colored grass, and give each a different stone type, you should archieve something similar to what you want.

This calls for.... a MOD!

Actually, mods are a bad idea. See the character animation mod. It is too choppy. You have to have it integrated into the default character.

Re: Bookshelves...

Yes, but the biggest issue is that sometimes the corner is nice.. Part of the reason why I am complaining.

Two different nodes would be great. I might go make a meshnode to use.

Re: Bookshelves...

As for the 3rd screenshot, that is what I used to do earlier when the new bookshelves were not in place. But the deep bookshelves is true... Maybe having a nodebox/mesh would help alleviate the 2D issue... But that is up to the developers. What about this: http://i.imgur.com/opowUhe.png Also, the pr...

Re: Bookshelves...

I am always running latest git, that includes minetest game. And the two adjoining sides would probably be more of a headache... It would make placement a little harder, and the tops of the bookshelves non-contiguous. Something like this: | | | | | | | -- At the end, the wood would change direction....

Bookshelves...

Really? OK, I know that complaining will not help Minetest Game move forward... but still. IMHO, the swap-out of the bookshelves was kind of a bad idea. For those that aren't running latest git, the MT team (likely) excepted a pull request that changes bookshelves from having a wraparound books to o...
