Advanced Schematic Files.

Merry Christmas ladies and gentlemen, I have a special treat for you. Schematic files that can carry extended meta information such as Technics and Pipeworks nodes. At the moment only OldCoder’s rewrite of worldedit can create these reliably, and he still wants to sort out a few issues before releas...

Builder’s World

It’s a flat map with lakes enabled. You start with a small house, it has a bed, a chest, a furnace, and stairs leading down to a well established mine. Watch out, there could be monsters down there. http://www.mediafire.com/file/wao6yco8iq36mxp/Builder%2527s_World.zip It requires SlopsBucket_game. T...

Re: Dormus

Domus Floor Plan The Romans kept a very strict division between their private family life and their public life and this was reflected in the design of their homes. The single story area at the front of the domus was where they held their public life and entertained guests. They even kept guest bedr...

Re: Dormus

OK. A few days of very busy work are over, now it's time to get back to the fun stuff. The upper floor and the roof are now in place and it looks very much like the drawing shown on the wiki page, but I don't like it. Much of the floor plan doesn't fit the simple practicalities of life. There are al...

Schematic Files That Work!

This is what has been keeping us so busy for the past month or more. Debugging Minetest. Successfully. The new Final Minetest and it’s debugged Bucket World Game aren’t ready for release just yet but you can already visit Bucket World and see many of these changes for yourself. You can use your favo...

Yes, ladies and gentlemen, the entire built up area of Bucket World in one tiny little file for you to play with. This post is to highlight one of our goals here. This file is actually one of my working backups. It was all built using Minetest 0.4.15, the server it’s running on is Minetest 0.4.16. B...

Re: Dormus

This is turning out to be a lot more complex than I first expected.

Here is the kitchen, or Culina, much better lit than it would have been for the slaves preparing food.

Dormus

Please ignore the spelling error in the title. It is a Domus , not a Dormus. My next project, just started this morning. A Domus was the house of a Roman Merchant, with a shop or two out the front and a well protected living area behind. There was a lot of crime back in ancient Rome. They were poorl...

OK everyone, here's what you've all been waiting for: Angkor Wat. 800 x 577 83 high, Position 1 is ground level. Mods Required: castle moreblocks stoneworks 38 million nodes. There will still be a few minor tweaks, a little polishing, and maybe different textures, but for all intents and puposes I'm...

Re: Angkor Wat

A night time shot with the towers for you. Only the last central tower to go. Work is progressing quickly now, the entire structure should be complete within 24 hours. So now it's time to start thinking about textures. I could make my own but would rather use what's already available if I could. I'm...

Re: Angkor Wat

I think I'm ready to start on the towers.

I'll probably run around doing more checking first but it's nearly there.

I'm giving a new schematic here as well, it now requires mods:

castle
moreblocks
stoneworks

800 x 577
54 high, position 1 is ground level.

Cheers,

Andrew.

Re: Angkor Wat

Last pic for the day. Refinements and more refinements. It's impossible to be entirely accurate at this scale but I'm getting it as close as I can. One example of what makes it difficult is the stairs, I only have 2 options for steepness and this governs how far out the surrounding buttressing must ...

Re: Angkor Wat

Changes aren't going to be very obvious in pictures for a while but there's still a considerable amount of work happening, lifting bits, stretching bits, tweaking all over. Once I'm happy with the shape of the entire structure I'll add the towers and probably change textures. I've been saving the to...

Bucket World is about to get an update now that Angkor Wat is facing the right direction.

Still progressing steadily, the entire front section is now complete. It won't be much longer before I start work on the towers. [Tutorial] Using very large Schematic files.

Creating and using MTS Schematic Files. Firstly, creating . Use WorldEdit to mark Positions 1 and 2 so that a box surrounds the entire area that you want to export.
