Why should you change your ip address? Your friend just connects to your address (find out what is it in this page).

Scott, create .minetest/usermods or .minetest/world/worldmods folder in your home. I use the latter and it works just fine.
Also to use use mods you have to install 0.4 version.

You should look in the wiki.

I'm working on a man page for minetest and minetestserver, as they don't currently have one. Please review, comment and give some suggestions.

(Not overly) quick and dirty server-side patch: Can you tell how to apply this patch? I tried to copy the code and put it into a new file empty_pw.patch on my local minetest git folder. Then I run this command and that's what I get. $ git apply --check empty_pw.patch fatal: corrupt patch at line 40...

I don't like so much this strong password thing. People should be able to choose their passwords themselves. -1

I propose an 'Empty password warning'. If you'd leave password empty and connect then server would complain about that.
There could be also config file options like warn_empty_password and/or allow_empty_password.
What do you think?
