I realized you could use Voxel Manipulator to get a block's name. That WORKS! Thank you VERY much! It seems like the original problem might be fully fixed by this: https://github.com/minetest/minetest/co … 17d44be8fb Please test with latest git. That does sound right. But please excuse my ignorance...

That is an excellent idea!
BUT, when trying it, I just got ignore the second time as well. :(

I'm running minetest 0.4.9 on a linux system. carts is the only mod I've got installed. So, I built a REALLY long railway to go from my castle to some interesting scenery where I wanted to do some more building. Gravity only for this rail, about 350 blocks long, drops one block down for every 5 forw...

viewing range

How do I increase the viewing range in minetest? I tried modifying viewing_range_nodes_min directly in minetest.conf, but it went right back to 65. I'd like to try a larger number and see if my computer can handle it.

Had the same "problem". Punch it first - then jump in. It's a bit tricky but one gets used to it. Tricky indeed, but I got it to work. thanks! Is this the way it is supposed to work? In monorail you can setup accelerators and switches, but this will need [mesecons] to work. I tried turning off cart...

Just but the cart on an up/down hill slope and jump in. Just tried it, and no difference in behavior. rebuilt my rails on a downhill slope. Put my cart on the slope, and right clicked to get in. no movement. left clicked on the cart while I was in it, no movement. Got out and left clicked, cart too...

I'm running minetest 0.4.9 under linux. Just tried adding mods for the first time: carts, invoice++, and zcg. I put down some rails, and crafted a cart and dropped it on the rails. I left click the cart, and it moves! So far, AWESOME! Then I try the following, I right click the cart to get into it, ...

Well, it just did it to me again. Luckily I know how to fix it this time. BUT, I hadn't turned off debug yet, so here is the debug of the crash: 11:06:13: ACTION[ServerThread]: singleplayer digs default:stone at (714,24,-377) 11:06:13: VERBOSE[main]: OpenALSoundManager::maintain(): 1 playing sounds,...

That must have been what I did somehow. I generated a new map when I installed 4.9 and was careful NOT to select the minial game, and it is working fine!

cant craft door

I'm a newbie at minetest (and have never played minecraft) so this is almost certainly something I'm doing stupid (or not doing smart) I can craft most other things I've attempted, but when I attempt to craft a door by putting 6 wooden planks in the left 6 columns of the crafting square, by the wiki...
