I added garden soil . If you use garden soil you dont need water to build a farm: It might be a good idea to add an ABM (or something) to garden soil that runs every so often, and makes the plant on top (if present) grow a bit, in addition to what the plant already does. Place the boiler near the steam engine :)
You dont need a axle to connect a boiler to a steam engine.

I have a minor suggestion. Instead of acquiring tree saplings from crafting or falling off the tree when the leaves decay. How about we change that to something more of a different process of getting tree saplings. How about a special tool of some sort (clippers, scissors, etc.) that the only ones ...

Adventuretest or RPGtest could serve as a base RPGtest is still WIP . There are lots of bugs. I wouldn't use it for a project... It has lots of (unfinished) features which this game doesnt need. The graphic style is much different to the mt style. Mods wont work, because they often need the default...
