a) how can you access the forum-accounts
b) that was exactly what i was thinking of
c) there is no real need to patch minetest,

maybee it would be better to split up the texure-repos and the code-repos
someone could write a nice litle database& webfronted for users to upload their textures (c55 would need to host it to have some for of authentication via the forum-accounts) and everybody could pull those texures

I know its complicated, i know how tools work in minetest :D thanks for the double-drops. that was just an idea, im shure there is a lot more you could do to -ench- "specialize" your tools. please dont! split it up in seperate ones, its a lot better: ⋅ admins can add it in portions ⋅&...

add things like double-drop or faster mining
and add a glowing mese-pickaxe as an ultimate upgrade wich you can only get for xp (take the code from walking light or torch or however it was called)

@Neuromancer:
please dont put a .zip into your main repos on github. (https://help.github.com/articles/what-is-my-disk-quota)
and please dont store old versions of files in there (init.lua) thats what an vcs is good for.

Actualy you can allow more then one person to edit one repos, its not limited to its owner but celeron55 does not do that, and thats why there are 150 minetest-forks.

its not about learning c++, thats just the syntax. its about building a game-engine instead of just adding content inside of an fully managed script-environment. thats a HUGE difference, and i dont think that i would want random people to change the engine, nor would i want that from c55 perspective...

it would be better to check for a cetrain height and a row of ~10 blocks in front of it to be free but that might turn out to be quite slow…

i dont think that those patterns would be the right choice, especaly as im not shure if a continous generation of landscape would be possible. i do think the perlin-noise needs some fine-tuning (or, as mentioned some cool system like biomes but it would not be as easy as that as we have a f*ng gigan...
