Re: [Game] Minetest NeXt (discontinued) (part of minetest_ga

Nope, after posting this I found the actual message and I believe the name was Exeter or something like that. Yeah... I posted the comment about TNT making our pretty map into Swiss Cheese. Didn't know TNT was in there when I upgraded the server. The kids found it had a blast (pun intended). The re...

Re: [0.4.10] NeXt merged / Updated minetest_game

I did not notice that TNT is now included by default. But my children discovered it rather quickly. So now our world looks like Swiss cheese!
Lol

Re: trying to understand a server mod that is also on a clie

Glad to be of help :) By the way, related to your changes, if you don't like your kids losing their items on death, you may safely move the `bones' folder/mod out of the game folder to disable this completely, or a modification could be made so only certain players lose their items, so your kids (o...

Re: trying to understand a server mod that is also on a clie

Thanks for your quick answer kaeza. Turns out it was a typo in my code so naturally it didn't work as expected. Pretty bold of me to assume I wasn't at fault? lol All I was doing is announcing player death in chat and in server log. So I don't have to work so hard in locating my childrens bones so t...

trying to understand a server mod that is also on a client.

I've placed many mods on my server and even tweaked a few of them a bit, and as expected... they worked. I tried a small edit to the bones mod that is within the standard minetest game (on the server box). But nothing happened at all. So I guess I want to know if I tweak the bones mod on the server,...

Re: Music in Minetest...

I vote server or property owners set music choice. Powered by shoutcast or the like. Using gstreamer plugins. Video on a node surface can be accomplished like this as well. Second Life uses this approach. Pretty cool

Re: Android Builds (ARM, x86, MIPS)

Thanks sapier, very helpful. Couldn't test exiting the Unified Inventory formspec as there is no outside in this case. In fact I've noticed some of the items on the edge aren't showing completely as there just isn't enough room. Unfortunate, but likely unrelated to your builds so I won't mention aga...

The jump/fly button is on the lower right. Looks like a squashed bullseye. If that is the button you are asking about.

Re: Android Builds (ARM, x86, MIPS)

Still following and have been installing each new release. Today I threw in Minetest-release_20140611.apk and noticed it's a whole lot more playable FPS-wise for the phone I listed earlier. On our server I was getting 5-7 FPS in the daytime and it seemed to jump to around 15-17 FPS in the night or u...

Re: HDX Textures (16 - 512 px) [git rolling release]

If you didn't also delete the PNG images that were already there, the JPGs will not be used. The engine tries to ignore filename extensions, but it will use the exact-named files first if it can find them, and then look for other filetypes if the exact-named files aren't there. Nicely explained! I ...

Re: HDX Textures (16 - 512 px) [git rolling release]

I'm thinking .jpg's are intentional? If so, my setup may be at blame. I'm running the Minetest game. We have several worlds that we use different combinations of mods on so the mods are in worldmods directories rather then in the global mods folder. I wanted to install the textures server side to co...

Re: HDX Textures (16 - 512 px) [git rolling release]

@VanessaE First off... most excellent work on the texture pack. We are really enjoying the heck outta it. Just one thing, there are many textures for the default mod that are in jpg format rather then png so they don't show. This occurs in the 64x64's in git. Haven't checked any of the others. Might...

Re: Android Builds (ARM, x86, MIPS)

I joined up so I could help with data. I've been quietly stalking as our whole family is enjoying Minetest and hopeful for a Android release. I've been installing all the releases since the 30th and have noticed improvements along the way. My three children have the Kyrocera Event. Probably the bott...
