Assertion 'result.key == name' failed.

I get this error on other peoples' servers sometimes, but I just assumed they're running a development version that was incompatible with my client. But now, I get this error every time I try to connect to my own server. Both the server and client are at version 0.4.5 stable. What does this mean, an...

minetest_game has other stuff like dyes, wool, creative and so on Why? If it's an "official" mod, why not put it in the common area and just not include it in the default list of common mods to use. This allows any custom game to use them easily. I agree. Everything official should be in common, wh...

I actually had the server up when I went to bed, but it went down again while I slept. The experiment yesterday wasn't able to yield us any usable data, so we're in the same bind as before: Any changes to the world may or may not be saved. So don't pour your hart into some creation that may be lost,...

I don't think the issue is your computer. I'm not getting any connection at all.

Are you stuck at the "Connecting ..." message, or are you able to move on to the loading page with the percentage?

There's a couple things I strongly disagree with in the video. First, minetest isn't GOING TO be better than Minecraft. It already is. Minecraft is full of annoying things that make the game bothersome to play. Second, we can't blame the developers for lack of advertising. In a typical corporation, ...

For example, if we look at sunrisetest.no-ip.org:30000's entry at the time of writing this, it says "8/100, 12". 8 is the number of current players, but 12 is the maximum that ha...

The map isn't the issue. The server itself is. Even a new map won't fix this. Until I find a way to get Debian and the NIC to play nicely together, the server is down. If I get it back up, we'll still have our current map.

Only persists for the current session.

No, its saved in minetest.conf

It will only save to the conf file if you opened the server with the GUI. So you're both right.
