To me at least, the word "socket" strongly suggests a data output or mains outlet, while "plug" suggests the counterpart on a receiving or powered device (printer, lamp, etc). Heh, I blamed that on my video driver; just need to enable driver-level antialiasing/supersampling/etc. Supposedly this can be done from outside the game, but I don't know how. :-/

I'm working on a texture pack and would like to make some objects with parts that are slightly translucent, for example adding a soft glow around torches and mese lamps via the alpha channel.
