Re: Cash's World Server

Players files contain information about the player's location, direction looking in, and what is in inventory. Players passwords and properties will not be affected.

Almost finished now. I am doing this quick and dirty.

Re: Cash's World Server

I am searching for player files that have 'expensive' stuff in inventory like steel, gold, diamonds, etc. Those player files will be saved. Everyone else will have their player files deleted and will reappear at spawn the next time they log in.
That is a lot of files to scan. haha xD

Re: Cash's World Server

I was getting no response from the server. So I tried a Ctrl-C to shut it down. Though I did not intend to shut it down. Oops.

Re: Cash's World Server

/kill ? I was having problems just now working with the virtual machine. It was capturing my mouse. It did accept a Ctrl-C though :/ Since the server is down, I'm going to take a bit to delete some of the 77,000+ player files. I won't do a thorough delete. Just enough to bring the number of files do...

Re: Cash's World Server

Strange. Is that what you see when you look at an autocrafter or when you open one? Is there a prot block nearby? The code for the autocrafter does not have an image of a prot block as part of the autocrafter's image. Maybe try another MT client? You can try the official MT client at http://www.mine...

Re: any quest mods?

After playing World of Warcraft for a month or so, I am going to have to look into this mod and see how I can bring quests into Cash's World. Maybe I can give my players a reason to learn how to make things rather than asking/demanding them from the admin so often.

Item quests. Kill mob quests. etc

Re: Server to play with my friends free ?

40$ for a minetestserver is in any way way too much. horrible that people think this is a realistic price. This would match a dedicated rootserver with around 24gig ram somewhere else. Beside, this "coming soon" is there since months yet. $40/month is too much? Hmm, Let's see. The hardwar...

Re: [Server] Just Test Tribute

I will come back and work on the shop. IDK when. Hopefully soon. Building got preempted by needing to stock the many chests and stocking got preempted by needing farm land, etc. It is a viscous but fun cycle. Something to keep non-murderous players busy xD The purpose for my shop's design is because...

Re: Cash's World Server

The MT server was running slow in a Linux VM under a Windows 10 host. The 320GB SATA2 7,200 rpm HDD used to hold the VM was constantly writing to disk at ~40MBps and seemed to be a bottleneck. I wanted to see if Redis would speed things up. It seems to have done so. The HDD is idle for about 3 minut...

Re: Cash's World Server

Did I say I would start the server soon?
Define 'soon'
A long string of problems being solved one by one :/
I finally got the VM to boot! Took an hour or more to accomplish that.

Re: Cash's World Server

I have finally tried to do something on my computer that it can't easily do with 16GB of RAM: running a virtual machine and using redis! Oh well. The map was 70 % converted when suddenly the memory usage of the virtual machine maxed out and the conversion process entered an endless loop. I gave the ...

Re: Cash's World Server

The drive tested fine. The server is up. There seems to be no problems in the area that Wraz and Rita were in. I dug the road without problems.

Let's see what happens.

The server didn't start crashing again until I dug some sand near the road. Then the server repeatedly crashed when I logged in. I ha...

Re: Cash's World Server

I've done some reading after a Google search. From what I can see, this error has persisted for at least 3-4 years across various versions of MineTest. The usual 'solution' is to claim that the map is corrupt and for the admin to wipe the current map, reinstall from backup, or a bad hard drive. The ...

Re: [fedora 25] Compilation Problems

Hi spyjoshx I use Fedora 25 also. I'm not an expert but I think that cmake isn't finding the required libraries using the cmake scripts. I don't know if these scripts are part of cmake or if they are part of the MT package. I suggest that you use ccmake. It is easy to use and configure MT for compil...

Re: Cash's World Server

My IP address depends on how I am connected to my cable modem. Each port of my cable modem (4 wired + 4 wireless, 8 total allowed) has a different global IP address. I was recently using wireless due to a bad Ethernet cable, which is now fixed, and somehow the virtual machine's IP address was being ...

Re: Cash's World Server

Running it under BOTH Windows 10 and Linux isn't working as well as I hoped. Seems to be a bug in VirtualBox when the same port is used by more than one system (host & VM). It knocks my computer off the Internet requiring a reboot. The server has been running for hours w/o any players because of...
