As I understand it (but please correct me if I'm mistaken) the added load is only on the client side, hence, if the feature is off by default it would be zero-sum-gain, and when the user employs the feature it becomes a conscious/desired tradeoff to grab things for offline viewing...
Are there servers where this feature would cause Intellectual Property concerns?
