I thought my monitor had some dirt spots and tried to rub them off. :)

I tried to start to explore the whole server map to scan it with minetestmapper and have a nice 60000x60000 Pixels map picture of xanadu, just for fun... And yeah, the result is a bit disappointing cause it shows how "much" i explored today... (Note: I was walking around the map for many many hours)
Because scanning the whole map at once would have really caused problems, i decided to divide the map scanning process into 12 single files, all 10000x30000 pixels big. This covers the whole map. So, i did that and got pretty nice results.

Paramat had been talking about some map blending tools and OldCoder had likewise mentioned something along those lines. Anyways, on the top right you can see some sky-islands from old Xanadu. Stuff like that which needs no blending into the new mapgen could actually easily be added to some museum corner of the new map.

+ "my version of a Xanadu map scaled 1:4"
(you may have to open the map in a tab of it's own or download it to view it in full resolution, allthough it is 1:4)
I made a backup of the old map and then used the same database with about a months worth of exploring the old map to record the new map. I never recreated the game as used for Xanadu and thus haven't explored the map offline.
So the stuff in the top right corner and the long detached walk south of spawn in the lower part of the map belong to the old Xanadu map.
