AutTest,a version of AutCraft for Minetest 0.4.10

Hello again everybody! I was reading an article about this amazing Minecraft server called "AutCraft" and basically it is a server for people on the autism spectrum(Autism,Aspergers,etc...). The website can be found here: http://www.autcraft.com/ (and before/if you ask,i am NOT trying to advertise their server nor copy it! I am simply a fan trying to bring it to Minetest)
To the point: I am going to create a Minetest version of AutCraft, titled AutTest, for children and adults on the spectrum to build, play, create, and otherwise have fun,but I can't do it alone! i need 2two staff who will not cause trouble on my server! if you would like to apply,pm me the following info:
your IGN(in game name)
your time spent on the server(minimum a week)
your reasons for joining the staff team
that is about it for staff applications.
Modification requests may be sent in using the comments, but not all will be accepted.
Damage will not be enabled.
Creative is allowed for all players, but you must ask permission to interact in any way with a structure not owned by you! This includes:Building, digging, breaking, placing, and activating nodes without permission, so i recommend that you place signs or other indicators that the structure belongs to you!
People who come to cause trouble will be dealt with in this order:
1) warning 1
2)warning 2
3) ban for a day
4)ban for 3 days
5)permanent ban
this process will only be carried out depending on the number of times that the troublemaker causes trouble.
here is the address:
76.94.108.200:30000
Have fun!

I don't think it's discrimination either. Good idea.

I have a child on the spectrum. I don't find it discriminatory at all.

If server peformance is too low, you can try these settings: viewtopic.php?f=10&t=1825

Sounds fantastic! Part of me thinks it's weeding out those with autism, and discriminating somewhat, but the other part thinks that this is great. Is it better for society to acknowledge these differences, or is it better not to, to treat them the same as others?
Perhaps you should offer Areas or some such protection mod for players, so that when you're online they can request that their creations be protected from other players.

Nor do I, it's a great idea.

My son has an ASD and loves minetest, both building in his own world on our local server and exploring worlds on public ones.

@TheSuperTimelord I have a couple of mods that I made primarily for him that may be of interest:

wheels - well, just the one wheel ATM but I have some more models to add when I eventually get round to the textures.

scrabble - letter tiles like the ones from the well known game. Crafting is quite involved but can always just be selected from the creative inventory.

I also have a rough idea for a PECS mod but that may take a while :)

If you have the permission (In the auth.txt file), you can use Areas.

To protect an area, you first select the area, then protect it.

1- Type in the command "/area_pos set" into the chat. Then, punch two blocks- this will be the area you protect.
2- Type in the command "/set_owner [owner name] [area name]" into the chat. This will protect the area.

For example, say I use "/area_pos set", then punch two blocks that cover my spawn.
I then use "/set_owner jadedtest Spawn", as jadedtest is my in-game name, and I want the area to be called 'Spawn'.

I don't really sustain the project.
I'm autistic, and I don't see why I should play here and not elsewhere. I play MinetestForFun and I make some mods, and feel good about myself !

It's your choice to play on here or not, however my goal is to create the best place for people on the spectrum to play together. Just saying.

You might install my markers mod. It adds a GUI to the markers and allows easier setup and management of areas.

TheSuperTimelord wrote:my goal is to create the best place for people on the spectrum to play together.

If you want a server specific for people on that spectrum, taking a closer look at the chat and offering additional commands there migh help. After all the main problem is reading emotions. There's not too much of that going on in a Minetest world, but chat tends to bring diffrent people together. Misunderstandings are common. A simple option to mute the channel (except for important messages?) and an extended, easy to use ignore system might save you a lot of trouble.
