Hosting for Minetest

by basil60 » Mon Sep 14, 2015 05:59

Hi
I have my own server running Ubuntu, but my ADSL 1 runs as low as 20Kbps at times, effectively meaning it's not worth connecting to.

Can anyone recommend hosting that supports the installation of Minetest, and doesn't cost an arm and a leg. We might host it at school eventually, but for testing, I'd like to get Minetest up and running and play with it.

If you want cheap use buyvm.net. Performance is ok for a small server. This is the only budget VPS I've used that doesn't complain about your CPU usage. I have used a few other budget VPS that will e-mail you when minetest uses too much CPU or even kill the minetest process without warning.
