Server Updates(sss)

At first, i introduce to you our new website :

(XorHub - our team is evolving in a free gaming platform)

Many updates since the last news, so let's go :
- REDIS bug fixed (durably)
- Skins system added (from the inventory)
- Add a new protector block, the "Mega Protector Block" which protects an area three times bigger than the normal protector block (useful for big buildings, asked by many players)
- Textures optimization (lesser space taken)
- Add travelnet mod, redesign the travelnet teleporter to be more like "Doctor Who" teleporter (also asked by many players)
- Many bugfixs
- Xdecor added and up to date
- Farming mod added
- Thanks to cessna151 who build a Spawn for us, you can access it with /spawn (spawnpoint set to this building)
- Our Skyblock subgame was merged with the new features of minetest_game/next
- Add an "/ignore" feature if you don't want to talk with some players
- Add the Report feature to report your ideas/complains to moderators/administrators
- Add a sound when you complete a level and when you complete a quest, also add and update some random_messages to help you understand better the subgame

Hello, if I lose all my iron and bronze, and I need them, do I have to restart?
Also, I have no idea what happened to 2 of my buckets and my iron&bronze lumps/ores, were they taken by other players? were they lost because of some glitch? None of my other stuff has dissappeared (I haven't noticed at least) so I'd like to know what happened

I don't want to redo all my progress as it's very time consuming....

EDIT: Managed to get back everything I needed

Could you PLEASE add some sort of backpack or similar mod? It's really annoying to run out of inv space while far away from home....
Also a flashlight or something would be nice too since we can't place torches to protected areas and some areas are unlit(maybe they have glass roof but at night it's very dark indoors)...

I personally would enjoy working levers and buttons and mesecons and digilines and technic and stuff like that but I guess those are not going to be on this server (I do know you have a creative server but I haven't looked at it just yet)

At first, thank you for your suggestions !

For the backpack, we choose to not introduce them to simplify the actual heavy user interface, well, if many peoples want this feature, we can add it :)

A flashlight isn't something we planned, we will introduce with pleasure this feature with a mod that light your way when you carry a torch, but for now it's not the case... So currently, the only thing we can do is waiting the players to enlight they areas..

The mesecons, digilines and technic mods won't be added to our SkyBlock server because there are really too heavy, because we want to let this server as thin as we can, this kind of mods are available on our [MinetestForFun Classic] & [MinetestForFun Creative] servers if you want to play with them :)

I know that mesecons digilines, etc. are heavy and I like lightweight, but I don't understand what are you referring to as "heavy user interface"...there are many buttons to press but nothing heavy...

also why is there a worldedit button in my inventory if I can't use it?

Thank you for the report about the WorldEdit button.
In fact, it's not normal if you see this button but, it's normal if you can't use it.
Only the administrator of the server can use WorldEdit, I opened an issue on our repository to fix it : https://github.com/MinetestForFun/serve ... /issues/99

yes, mesecons and pipeworks are two heavy mods, they will increase the lag drastically, so we will not add them.

What happened to coals? How can we get them now? Cause the only way to get coal was to dig coal ore who was crafted a stone and a coal but not, when we break it, it lets a cobble. I want my coal back pls, that's not good

Server Upgrade + OS upgrade + Server Updates

Server Upgrade
All of our servers are now on Minetest 0.4.14 Stable release !
Players with an older client version than 0.4.14-stable are greatly recommended to update their game client version :)
Anyway, players with Minetest client version 0.4.10+ can still connect on our servers

OS Upgrade
We took advantage of this Minetest upgrade, to also do a huge upgrade of our server distribution to the latest Debian Jessie version (currently 8.4)

Server Updates
We recently added some mods because our players want them :
- Skins feature (with many different skins for both women and men)
- PVP on/off button in the inventory
- Swords (32px retextured)
- Armors (32px retextured)
- Hunger system
- Farming mod (with a large variety of fruits and vegetables)

Some of our mods are into submodules/subtree, BE CARFUL about them when you pull our repository.

You can pull submodules with this commands :

What license(s) is this released under?
Of particular interest is the licenses for the "skyblock" and "skyblock_levels" mods.

EDIT: Additionally, trying to get this running locally:
When running in new world, shows up at location set by 'static_spawnpoint', falls onto the floor, dies, then is teleported to (16032,16,16032), and hangs. The location (16032,16,16032) is outside of the map, the size of which is initially set at 1000x1000. The code is running skyblock.spawn_player() in [minetest location]/worlds/[game name]/mods/skyblock/skyblock.lua, getting to the IF statement on line 155 and perpetually entering that code block and being returned out. The variable 'spawn' is set to the previously-mentioned location outside of the map. Attempts to teleport out of this area result in being teleported back to that out-of-map area, even if teleporting to and loading an area in ~/.minetest/worlds/[world]/skyblock.start_positions.
Stopping the server and then re-entering the server result in same issue. If engaging fly privs before hitting the ground to die, then the map loads the kill-ground (presumably) normally wherever I fly. Then disabling fly privs in order to have a spawn created ends up in dying and engaging the off-map stuck-loop problem again.

Hi,

The base subgame/mods are from cornernote and licensed under GPLv3 (it's at least 2/3 of the server), each mods we used have a different licence, you need to search the "LICENSE.txt" file under each mods...

All of our subgame & mods modifications are under WTFPL, but we will soon relicense all of them into GPLv3.

For the error on boot, did you import the submodules ? You can see how to do that here : viewtopic.php?f=10&t=13294&start=25#p218322

Thank you for the license information.

Yes. all of the submodules have been imported, per that forums post. Indeed, the server would not be able to get so far without the code from those other modules.

Hello,

Today I was on the server, as usual... Until I found that I lost my fly/fast privileges, (when walking off my skyblock island...), although I was on level 5.

Killing yourself worked for all the users, but not me, when I did that my game crashed and when I tried to log back on my password was changed... Idk how, I think it was 'automatic'
Please fix this and change my password too.

There is a glitch in the mod,that in Level 4,when you have to make 4 lumps of flour,and I crafted 6,and it still says,"Craft 4 lumps of flour(2/4)",and there's no way for me to fix the problem! Why is it doing that?
