Server without port forwarding

Hello,
I've been looking at starting a server for a while now, and I finally tried doing it (and failed twice). IDK what I'm doing wrong, but I think it may be my port forwarding. I have no access to my router's settings to forward the port. Is it possible to start a server from my home PC without port forwarding?

Thank you
garywhite

New member is based on post count.

You can't, basically. The only remaining options are to find somewhere else to host it, eg: a vps provider, or not make it public, make it only available to the people on your router.

Minetest does not support UPnP or NAT hole punching, so the port can't be forwarded for you (or the NAT punched through).

If you want to use an external program to forward ports though UPnP, you can try UPnP PortMapper.
