Hello everyone,

I've just been scrolling through all the threads in the 'Servers' topic,
and have seen a lot of people asking for Hosting of servers.
I though if you want to make a server, you should write it down on this thread,
and people who can do Cloud Hosting can write it down on here.

That way we don't have 'Can Anyone Host My Server'
or 'I am offering free server hosting' threads (x1000).

So, it's easy as pie. Just write down if you want to host a server or servers,
and others who want a server hosted can PM him/her whom offered it.


Do not write down "I can't host a server!"., only "I can host a server." and/or "I want someone to host a server for me!"

I think those who want a server should PM the person who offered it. Posting these dicussions in this thread would be a bit spammy.

Eh... Yes, that'd be for the person who is offering server hosting.

I am planning on starting up a single server that I can swap worlds around on. The intent is that I can swap worlds around from one to the other easily, as a way of exercising my MT management tools ( viewtopic.php?f=14&t=15174 )

If anyone wants to host a server temporarily on my setup, please get in touch. It will only be temporary (anything from a couple of days to a month), but the tools I have allow taking a full backup of a Minetest game data, world, configuration and assets, and re-deploying them on a different Ubuntu-based server.

If anybody would like to have a server hosted for a few days for any purposes, please let me know. You will need a github account with forks of the mods you want if you intend to tweak them; otherwise simply list the git URLs of each mod you want to install and they can all be set up to update periodically, allowing you to push updates to the server in that way.

If anyone wants to try and organize a "let's have a session with the most connected users simultaneously" session, ping me and we can try to organize something, I'm game to provide a better-specced server for the duration of 4 days or so for a massive fun stress test, and we can swap worlds in and out with various mods, restore previous states of the world, move them from server to server, etc!

I am at a point where i can offer hosting but i would be selling it.

Would this thread be an appropriate one to talk about it and discuss rates?

#Push for this - it is really annoying to see all the serverrequests and serverproblems where mostly servers should be... .
And yes, i know - i've also posted a non-server thread due my hosting offer but i didn't find a better place for it. :-)
