Ah yes, it's running as the user which launched the process ergo it's in ~/.minetest ; my bad

All mods, etc will need to be managed from there then

Sounds like you've got it sorted though.

Updating what to .15 ? Servers?

Most of mine are (or two commits behind 0.4.15 ... which reminds me I need to deploy newest build...)

Any concerns you want to ask about?

Compile a new minetest binary and run that instead of the normal one.

If you are really paranoid back up the world folder fidst of course.... and db.... etc etc. I *expect* the db format is unchanged if thats your concern but maybe put specific q.s in the 0.4.15 thread....?

Had to update some mods but other than that, no issues. Thanks for the reassurance. :)

No worries. I recompile the server binary every so often, most of the time it's just a matter of slotting the new binary into the place of the older one. Keeping the older one as a `minetestserver.bak` file is always a good idea until you have determined the new one works to satisfaction ;-)

I'm actually doing some work on trying to get a ansible+docker+jenkins+scritps setup together to automate a good lot of this...

Eventually it'll just be a matter of download a set of scirpts and then hey ho, always-fresh server on the go...! :-p
