How do you run a server 24/7

I'm creating a public server and want to know how to keep it open for everyone.

Just keep the computer the server is hosted on 24/7. It's as simple as that, but keep in mind the electricity costs and the possible overheats. 8)

Yes that's the only way to run a server all the time. Is to have your computer on all the time to. Look into oil submersion maybe or just some more fans :D

You could also rent a VPS (A virtual computer on a real one that hosts 20-40 similar ones) they can be pretty cheap and they run 24/7.
So the server would run with or without your computer on..
I've heard these guys are pretty decent, although they aren't there to help you ('unmanaged').

do you have linux or windows. lunix can do terminal and windows cmd to run it
