We did have a team discussion again recently, involving our whole team, and I asked if we should allow you back. Majority vote was "no." Our moderators (and we) are so busy trying to moderate chat and help players, there is just no time to deal with the drama you like to stir up. You have to admit, you like drama. ;)

HOMETOWN is four weeks old!

Lawd have mercy we're starting to get a little busy up in here!

What's new?

    *No more spammy vote teleporting, now players can ask to teleport each other and need permission before dragging another player to them, kicking and screaming. /tpr /tpy
    *A whole mess of new (and more original) skins were added! Now we don't have 20 blue haired dopplegangers running around picking at each other for showing up at the prom with the same dress on.
    *Jail beds were fixed and the prison stripes are baaaaaack... you little criminals. :D
    *We are welcoming two new Moderators to our team, Kiko and Sky_Fall_II!
    *We are welcoming two new Guardians to our team, IMS_BULLDOGS and micah!
    *We will not be initiating any more staff at this time, all positions are currently filled. (Unless Adam Levine or Channing Tatum show up and offer to feed me grapes and rub my feet in exchange for a moderator position.)
    *Yummy cakes are now edible, and you can't duplicate them anymore. If you want a cake, you have to have a BIRTHDAY.

Moving right along...on to the builds!

This week I want to show some of the most AMAZING builds I have seen in Minetest thus far. I know I have a theme, but not sure how to title it. Hmmm...Creative builds, high up? Sky creativity? I know...how about "CREATIVELY HIGH!?" Yeah? (I suddenly have the munchies)

Check out Haunter's builds!! I was FLOORED when he showed me! The screenies just don't capture how epic his builds are.

And Lone_Wolf has started some huge statues of his own, and a DRAGON (unconfirmed reports advise me he may or may not have been inspired by a certain favorite dragon of ours who has been around a bit lately). Mmm hmm.

A closer look at "Rainbow Kievski" because it's so pretty. Kievski has a knack for creating beautiful and orderly builds, everything my little OCD heart admires! :D

Last but not least, teen's (WIP) highway/bridge hotel? Stopping point for weary travelers? Hotel California? I dunno, but I like it! Can't wait to see the finished build. :D

Oh, and a quick snapshot I took of the *real* HOMETOWN last Saturday while attending an art reception. The HOMETOWN translation is (from right to left)...eddd's shop, the armor shop, TinedStarling's restaurant, followed by a building I didn't include (uhhh)... and Whirlygigs toy store. :)

Wow.. those builds! I'm beginning to think I'm really missing out, I ought to play here more.

I just really wish I still had a screenshot of that one build I did on XtremeHacker's now private server. The thing had to be WAY over 100 blocks tall (it was a HUGE tower). Maybe I'll get him to send me a copy of the world file like I was going to do, uh, 3-5 months ago :rotfl: There were quite a few cool builds there.

Anyways, you'll probably see me around more often next week :P

I have recently been put as a Guardian of the server, so to show my appreciation to ExeterDad and Kibbie, I will be hosting 10 events on Tuesday! It does not matter how long each will take, if they go into Wednesday then so be it. First off, you guys remember the build-offs? There will be one held, the winners of each round will be given the first clues on the whereabouts of the prizes.

Losers do not fear though, you guys will get the clues 10 minutes after the winners start looking. After the first clue, a new one will be released 20 minutes after. There will be 10 hidden chests in or out of Impressive builds I will build all night tonight the goodies can result from coal to nyan cats! :D Everyone who wants to participate in these events can, even the mods. No one but me will know the locations of the builds. Unless they spy on me while I build them. You guys are the main reason I play on this server, you are the best family I can ask for and I feel like I should start giving back.

Was awesome to see ya again maikerumine! I had so much catching up I wanted to do, but you were recording :)
It would be fun for our families to play together! The bad word filter is pretty aggressive so hopefully your kids don't get corrupted while on the server. It's easy for even us to get kicked lol
The "stunning" part is all Kibbie and our players. I'm just the digger and shaper with some code hack'n (as you know). Thanks for stopping by, we'll be looking for ya guys in the future :D

Map itself is more or less done, way to the map building will probably 3 wide of stone+cobble+mossy with squared and lamps and some leaves along the way, but main question is building style of map building itself, two stories, roof will be partially glassy to pass more light onto map, will be good if you decide materials that fit city (walls, roof). Still long way before done.
This is approximation of server map (2000x2000 nodes) published above, done in 20x20 nodes, 1:100 scale (each square is 100x100 nodes of the world).

Cool Fixer! Just wait till Exeter takes another pic of the server map. Then you have to make a map to include your pic. Then Exeter takes another pic, and so on.... (The effect you get when you have a camera plugged into your computer and record the screen....

Fixer, the map and building are wonderful - definitely much more extravagant than I envisioned when you mentioned this project! Thanks so much for all your hard work, I plan to create a footpath and directive landscaping to invite players to explore your build. :)

HOMETOWN is five weeks old!

Some exciting stuff has been happening this week. We've seen a little buzz in chat about a Viking settlement somewhere on the map, and when the Vikings aren't busy growing the finest potatoes and training for the next village pillaging, they are "assisting" some of our players with their journey to Valhalla. :D

    *ExeterDad has been busy coding. Some of the things he has been working on may not be immediately noticeable by players, but will hopefully make for an overall more enjoyable experience. (Warps for teleporting, an ignore feature, a spam filter, some bells and whistles for moderators).

    *Moderators have been busy doing their moderating thing, and cooking up some surprises behind the scenes as well. Stay tuned! :D

This week's featured theme is "Replicas." The theme was mostly inspired by Fixer's wonderful replica of the HOMETOWN map in very small scale (you can see the finished map a few posts back). Fixer also built a beautiful building and pathway to the map building, and ladders and glass strategically placed for map viewing from up high. If you want to visit the map building, it is located behind the downtown buildings, next to String Bridge.

The next replica is one created by Lone_Wolf, GreenDimond, and some assistance (mostly modeling) by GoldenHart. It looks *just* like our beloved golden "harted" deer! So here is JUMBO GoldenHart standing next to his fantastic mansion! (Building credit for mansion: GoldenHart and GreenDimond)
