I've been idling and I'm sure gravel blocks have appeared where I am (as though I placed them), even though I had no gravel in my inventory...
Also can the travel-net teleporters be modified so that only the owner can destroy them? So many really useful teleporters have gone. I've accidentally destroyed two when trying to clear blocks from in-front of them too, so maybe make them super-tough, so it take a few seconds digging with a good pick to destroy them?
cheers,
Rob
The sand/gravel thing was fixed a while back, the server just hasn't been updated.CraigyDavi wrote:miner65536 wrote:Has anyone noticed gravel blocks being created where the player is for no apparent reason?

The gravel and sand spawning everywhere is a bug on the server. It's caused when someone else on the server is digging that block and then some of it spawns near them. If you look at some old protected areas you might see that the building is completely full of sand or gravel. Only way to stop this is to stop people from digging sand or gravel.
On the version of the travelnet mod used on this server it is not possible for them to be protected and they can be taken by someone else. In the new version of travelnets they can only be destoyed by the owner and they are mush harder to dig using a steel pickaxe or better.

1) Does (En/Dis)abling FOG affect the chunks loaded?
2) Does the recorder keep working when one exits to menu?
3) Does the recorder stop/slow if one sits still, as when waiting for extended views to load?
4) Is there any reason to use shaders, fancy trees, Smooth lighting, 3D clouds when recording? (apart from the aesthetics)
5) What happens when one uses the recorder client to edit a space? Foes it update the map? Does it start mapping all over again?
6) What happens when you revisit a space that has changed since last time you were there with the recorder on?

Self-granted interact privilege (thanks to /setemail command)
New player won't have to ask to cactuz_pl to get build privilege!
How it works:
Let's say I'm a new player with a wished inworld name MrFoo
1) log into redcrab's minetest server with these info
Name : MrFoo password :*******
server : redcrab.suret.net port : 30401
2) When I'm In, I have no 'interact' privilege (no ability to build/dig/place/open doors...)
I can check my privilege by typing /privs .. should be "shout, fast" by default
I type in chat (Type 'T' or Type '/') then I type
/setemail mrfoo@mydomain.ext
of course replace mrfoo@mydomain.ext with your real personal email address.
WARNING : be sure to type correctly the email address
WARNING , if the email address is false or fake my "MrFoo" player inworld name will be locked (due to the password reset)
3) I will receive (shortly under few seconds) a message on screen saying that my password is reset then I will be eject to this world and I have to log in again into this world with the new password provided by email.
4) Press ESC to return to login screen, get your new password from your email.. that may takes time to arrive.
5) Log in with new password, then you may check that you have 'interact' privilege by typing /privs -- should give "shout, fast, interact".
Then: happy building!
If you didn't get your email after few hours, check your "spam" folder or request assistance on forum.
Note: after password reset, you may change the password back to your old password thanks to the change password feature (press ESC, click on change password button).
