It's also possible to use dyes, yes. In that case a mod to create dyes, like Vanessa's flowers (edit: and junglegrass) is needed, maybe also using the now built in Vessels mod. You then need to connect somehow the dyes (with the vessels) with the wool. Idk if that's easy or hard to do.

please try the sfan compile version see at http://minetest.net/forum/viewtopic.php?pid=40967#p40967
you will see there that you can have very recent version by downloading this :

As far I can see the file contains the version of git commit cc4ff7 (2nd September 2012) ... so it should works

0.4.2 rc1 02/09/2012 is available at http://sfan.sf.funpic.de/minetest-builds/c55/minetest-0.4.2-rc1-cc47ff7-win32.7z

7z file archive use a particular tool to extract the content ... 7-zip ... check this at http://www.7-zip.org/ download / install the tool .. and you should be able to open and extract files from the 7z file archive.

Sorry, but I'm a noob at Windows technology...
As far as I know
extract the 7z file archive into your chosen folder thanks to 7-zip tool then execute directly the minetest.exe program file ...

Redcrab: Can you please upgrade the server to 0.4.3-stable before this last 0.4.2 build you just went to becomes too entrenched? Protocol version got another bump today just prior to release, so 0.4.3 as a client won't work until you upgrade.
