I'm reopening the SICP Minetest Server with my friend, JustAPerson. The world is new but the mods and defaults are the same!

Modifications installed:

• 30-second lantern mod
• Iron bars/spikes

Rules:

• Speak English as that's the only language we understand.
• Do not flood the chat.
• Do not flood the world.

You should install More Blocks/More Ores. :P

Would More Ores require a world regeneration? I imagine it would to place the new ores on the map?

dunno...i think just newly generated areas would spawn more ores but old ones (such as the spawn point) wouldnt generate new ore

Today, the server has been grief by someone, i don't know who. He played with lava and water on my aerian island. Lava has destroy a mine.

I saw that late last night.
We keep detailed logs and will be looking into undoing what has been done. I will attempt to write a mod tonight to read the log files and undo only the actions of the offender.

We have also created a backup mod specifically for the SICP servers which safely (i.e. preserves the map.sqlite file properly) makes a copy of the server every hour. We started this before the griefing occurred. If we can't undo the damage of this griefer, we will look into moving the damaged parts of the old map into our current map.

Glad to hear it is up and running again by the way is the mesecons mod still installed?

No. At the moment we're trying to keep things fairly vanilla except for server administration plugins.

NOTE TO ALL PLAYERS
We have reverted the server to a backup from two days ago (date 2012-04-30 00:32:43AM UTC+4). The player who did this HAS been IP banned.
We are very sorry about having to perform a rollback, but there was extensive damage to many existing structures.

In light of this, the SICP server team is looking into the development of a plugin that will rollback all of the offending players actions by reading the detailed log files we keep. Hopefully we will be able to restore the server, but as of now, there are no guarentees.

The server is humming along happily now.

All wood blocks were gone when I check my house, and looks like someone's been playing with water, too.

pretty lanterns...

I want to make a complaint: I have designer for my house 5 times in just 4 days of play. where are the Admin??? the spawn is now completely destroyed and no longer understands anything. I'm just a little rearranging the map ....

Lelix, if you use the link in the first post, you'll see there is administration, but not a moderator. Seems to be still vacant.

:O I CAN GO ON AND GRIEF EVERYTHING WITHOUT ANYTHING BAD HAPPENING [Sarcasm]

You can setup a protection area using my godtools mod. impossible to steal/dig/place nodes within the area while the shield is on, also cant place water or lava or use buckets anywhere on the map while its on. (check /general or /release, depending on the state of my move request) :-)

Can't connect to server. It just says ''Connecting to server...'' and does nothing. This is the same problem I have with BCNJR5's server, and many other popular servers. Is it just down or has everyone banned me for lagging (and yes, it IS racist to discriminate against people who lag). Thank you for reading.

EDIT: Why are you all ignoring me??? I just want to play on a free server with a few REAL people and a lot of world to take-over (all of the other servers crash/lag and have too many griefers). If this is a bug with my client, I need to know!
