GameBoom's server testing 0.4-dev

GameBoom server is testing 0.4-dev this week.

Server: mt1.gameboom.net Port: 30000

You need this specific client build:

(Windows) https://github.com/downloads/celeron55/minetest/minetest-0.4.dev-20120408-win32.zip

(Linux) https://github.com/celeron55/minetest/zipball/0.4.dev-20120408

Also, if you're on Windows you might want to turn OFF sounds, as they seem to lock gameplay.
Put in minetest.conf:

enable_sounds = false

Installed mods: moreores mesecons bobblocks bedrock nature magic_lantern

We will re-create the world after the test. Just feel free to join and build/unbuild to your heart's content.

Sounds work fine on Windows if you installed the correct dependancies (OpenAL). ;)

I'm pretty sure you can use BlockPlanet on this server.

You can use BlockPlanet, and ghostshell, no offence to neko but your world is basically going to be a forest because of the nature mod.

I have okay memories of this server, It was the first Minetest server I've been on, I did not know what grieifing was and I accidently broke something.

We tested a few re-created worlds, but most users weren't happy with the mapgen. So we decided to leave the old world --which is originally from 0.2.x but ported to 0.3.x and now 0.4.x.

Nature mod is nice but the trees were growing abnormally tall and blooming was insane :) I left a few features in and removed the rest. We have mesecons on it also, but not sure if we'll keep it.

These are the current installed mods:

moreores mesecons(partial) bobblocks bedrock nature(partial) magic_lantern particles nyanland

Nope. There is no OSX build for latest 0.4 snapshot/git, but you can compile it yourself.
