Try playing multiplayer?

I have attempted to play multiplayer now many times but it continues to give message "connecting to server... (Press escape to cancel)"
How do i solve this? I really want to play multiplayer.

What server are you trying to connect to? Make sure to allow Minetest (port 30000) in your firewall.

I think its the basic one, c55.me, sound right?

The c55.me server is down indefinitely.

Here you can see active servers
http://servers.minetest.ru/ . c55.me isn't active (for months).
A problem you'll encounter with the latest built is that you need older clients to play on the servers. Most the the 17-06-2012 (c57..) nightly build
http://minetest.net/packages/nightly/?C=M;O=A or the "stable" 0.4.1

Yes you're also correct with the older servers problem. I believe I have an older version (4.1) downloaded. Will try that.
