If it's your first linux, I advise you ubuntu... Or something simple xD
I don't think Archlinux is the best choice for a first time (it's harder to install)

another problem.....
i installed the demo version of Ubuntu first...and rebooted with my cd in...it worked at first for like 3-4 times, but then my pc just doesnt boot, it just gives me a black screen with a _ in the upper left corner...and it just doesnt boot :(

Have you installed it or just used the "live" version ?
Also, when it gives you that _, have you got the cd in ?

Was it an old cd or a new one ?
How could you burn it, if your computer was unusable ?
Have you tried to re-burn it or another cd ?
And, does it boot when you remove the cd ?

it was a hard disc problem, and i burned the disc with my aunts laptop....
i burned it on monday, so it was new...
it was the Ubuntu 12.10 version...
i have my cd in all the time
if the cd is out, it still doesnt boot...
but ill get a new hard drive tomorrow...
so the server will be up maybe in 20 hours...
and then ill be using UBUNTU
