FOSS gamedev and creative worlds

like some of you may know, im getting my pc back tomorrow, and soon i will make a server... now heres the thing, im new to ubuntu, and dont quite know it enough good to make a server, so i ask you to give me a step by step guide in making a server im ubuntu. thank you =) ps. i think that port forwarding is the same im ubuntu, so i know how to do that. if it isnt, then guide me through it as well

i said step by step -.- but oh well...

In terminal:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:minetestdevs/stable
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install minetestc55

He's going to host this on his home PC, on which he'll install ubuntu, not on a linux server

ok, I've just tried to check if he need help in OS installation, nothing else =)

You may want to check steps 4+ of this after you get your server up
