Hello all.
I have found some stuff here and there, and I have decided that I may be setting up a Minetest server soon. It will probably be running on a pretty good system that has 6GB of RAM, and a lot of storage space.
So, I want to see what you all think are good mods for servers. I will add the good ones to a list here, for others to look at and possibly use for their own server or whatever.
If you know of a good mod for a server (or a few mods), or a must-have mod for server owners, please post it in a reply (please make sure that there is/are a link(s) to the mod/mods) and I will add it to the list if I see it fit to do so.
Mods should not add tons of useless crap, I want to keep loading time as simple as possible while still having interesting mods.
Do not post mods that are unstable, they will be ignored.

Please do not advertise your services here. All advertisements will be ignored.
Also, please add a link to the mods that you list, as some mods like MoreOres never get many posts in their topics, and thus are lost into the abyss of really old mods and stuff, while it is still widely used and very popular.

He said the server will probably be a good computer, so having lots of mods will probably not be a problem. The thing is, once you have the textures on your cache, the client does not need to DL them again, so this is also not a problem.
I'd also like to suggest including unified_inventory if you are going to add lots of mods; makes browsing items easier, and the craft guide in it is better than inventory_plus+craft_guide IMHO.

Well, you asked for opinions, so deal with it.

Please refrain from dissecting posts. It is a major catalyst to flame-wars.

Depends on the type of server you want to run. Personally when its survival i like to play vanilla style but with Moreores, moreblocks, carts , lights plus, unified inventory, gemstones and mesecons added. I know thats not vanilla but i sort of look at those mods as a must on any server and really just expansions to the game. If its a creative then those mods plus Homedecor, 3d funiture, map tools, wool, colourd wood, technic, pipes and stuff like that.

I like Mesecons and homedecor the most, mesecons because you can build secret doors, you can have lights that can be turned on and off, and more. Homedecor is good because it's really hard to make a good house without it, because there are no lights (besides torches) no different doors, and so on. I also like having mine carts, travelnet, stairs+, noncubic blocks, moreores, moreblocks, blah blah blah. But it really all depends on how fast the computer running the server is. I don't have any computers that are fast enough to run a server:
My old computer: Could run minetest sort of fast, but it took FOREVER to access servers.
My new computer: Runs minetest pretty fast, but it still took a while to get on to servers.
My laptop: I can't play minetest on it because the graphics card is too old.
My small laptop: I can play minetest on it but it is WAY too slow to access servers.
My dad's computer: Runs minetest very fast, but it also takes a while to access servers. I also don't get to use it a lot.
My mom's computer: Runs minetest pretty slow, but it can ALMOST access the servers, but it is just too slow.
The computers at my school: I think they would probably run minetest pretty fast, and be able to go on the servers, but there are restrictions that don't let you run programs or anything.
I'm using my laptop now and I am SOOOOO bored I won't be able to access the servers until Wednesday, when I can use my new computer, but I can use my small laptop to play minetest.
You are so lucky that you have 8gb of RAM, my laptop has 2 and my new computer has 3.5.
