When was the last time user "winjinand" was on? He has a HUGE mansion which is abandoned, and I'm interested in it.

Howdy, 24/7minetester ;)

wijnand hasn't logged in for a very long time. His builds are well made and look nice; I do not want to turn them over to someone else to own or alter them.

The world is big and old; there are a lot of abandoned builds that have sat through the ages in need of repair or completion. Most of them are cobble shells that detailing and landscaping can to wonders for. Explore some more and make a list of coords for a couple that you think you can renovate. ;)

24/7minetester / riff,

I meant that you should keep a project list of coords for yourself. Spamming the forum thread is not good.

I'll check into Rhys's area but it is another one that is part of the server's history and may be left as Rhys created it.

riff / 24/7minetester,

  1. Make a list, for yourself, of the coords of potential renovation projects.
  2. Pick one project to work on.
  3. Ask an admin to check the logs to see if the build's original builder/owner has not logged in during the past 6 months.
    • If the build or the builder's area is whole, the project may or may not be OK'd for renovation. This world is old; "historic" builds, simple and plain as they may be, are still part of its history. The old-timers will remember them and the new comers will have them to compare to and learn from.
    • The admins are grown-ups with real life responsibilities as well as looking after the server and also have other tasks and requests to address online. They may not be able to respond immediately or may have to carefully consider and prioritize demands put to them. In the mean time, have a project of your own, in your own build area, to work on or harvest and mine for more build materials and supplies, or go around fixing-up the landscape of unprotected areas by filling-in pot holes, planting trees and flowers, create road-side parks with shade trees and a bench or picnic table, or take down floating-tree left behind by careless players and replant them (a good way to build up your supply of wood varieties for building, leaves for fuel oil and the excess saplings can be used either for improving the landscape with forests or saplings can also be used as short-burn fuels).
  4. When you are finished renovating one project, then move on to another project on your list.
  5. If an admin is not around to check and OK a build for renovation, have a project of your own, in your own build area, to work on in between.
    • Use ideas and techniques that you have seen and learned from by renovating old builds to create new builds and landscaping of your own.

These are pictures of a renovation I'm working on in Red King Corner. Just download and extract the zip file. It should be 'pictures.zip' and of ~16.0MB in size.

Howdy, riff / 24/7minetester ;)

The link you provided requires people to enter their email address to then receive an email from that web site which will supposedly contain a link to the actual zip file before they can download it to see your screenshots.

Many people will not want to do this because such web sites often spam their emails. As a result, few will see your screenshots.

A better option would be to use a free, image hosting service that gives you the code to display the images in the forum posts so people don't have to sign-up into potential spam sites just to see a screenshot. www.imgur.com is a free option that I have used for a couple years now.

Read through "The Basics" page to learn how to use imgur: https://help.imgur.com/hc/en-us/categories/201201803-The-Basics

Here is a link that walks you through on how to put images from imgur into forum posts using the "" tags: http://bcowtalk.runboard.com/t14374

Overview maps provide a top down view of the world. They can be very handy if you want to explore or if you just don't want to get lost. :)

jan6, LinuxGaming2 is *NOT* a pillage and plunder server.

Players who lag through to get into restricted / protected areas are breaking in to someone elses' property and violating the community's trust. I do not want players of such bad character on the server and they will be banned.

Taking things that do not belong to you is stealing. Stealing is against the server rules and will result in a ban.

Only if an unlocked container is outside and marked with a sign that says "Free Stuff", is it acceptable to take things from the container.

If you want to trade items, you will have to trade them directly with other players.
