It makes loading times much longer for the clients.

I recommend that you use a 16px texture pack (ie: Default) and yet the clients choose their own texture pack.

You know there is a bdcraft patch for living room furniture? :P

You can use a "remote media" server for much faster loading times, provided you have sufficient upload speeds.
