I want to play on a not very small (5+ active players) vanilla minetest server. What do you recommend?

Open an own server or use one from the public list.

"Good" is not an exact definition, so we don't know what exactly you need.

Servers from public list are not vanilla. I can start my own server, but I don't have a dinamic IP, it can't be always on and my computer is not so powerful to run a big server
