To clarify that a bit, I've been told it was a partitioning mistake, most likely Windows' fault.

may not be the case here but using windows does not free one from making backups when doing "trivial" things like changing the partition specs which probably wasn't done from within windows anyways. ;-)

To clarify a bit more.
Windows assumed that crazyginger72's Linux partition was corrupt, because it couldn't recognize the EXT4 filesystem.
Therefore, it reformatted it to a clean slate; NTFS. All the data is lost and unrecoverable. Sorry guys, but it probably won't be back up.

Only if it replaced each bit with zero's - it should be possible to recover the data if it hasn't got overwritten yet.

first of all hi :) yes i did have some issues but with my pc not the server!
this server is now an invite only to keep it from being cluttered up with people trying to login :) and i do need to write a new topic for it as this one no longer applies!

my pvp server needs a proper topic as well so its not gone but these topics no longer apply.

Krock, i actually looked at the hdd and all the sectors i checked all the bits were set to "0" so yes windows hates me :( but i hate them more :P
