OMG, that is an epic fail considering English is my first and only language (besides a little French and German)
I will fix that asap, thanks for pointing it out =D

btw, I am right at this moment busy adding a simple ammo system to this mod so watch out for some updates maybe later today.

Mod updated!

Added a simple ammo system and fixed that heinous spelling mistake.

Ammo is a one size fits all solution for now but I may add weapon specific ammo in future, requires TNT mod (by PilzAdam) for gun powder.
Crafted guns are now empty, they will automatically load/reload if you have an ammo pack somewhere in your main inventory.

Crafting for the ammo pack is {"tnt:gunpowder", "default:bronze_ingot"} --forgot to add that to the readme ;-)

Lots of new stuff 8)

Flare Gun
Shoots area illuminating flares lasting appox 30 seconds.
Consumes 1 flare placed anywhere in the main inventory.

Grappling Hook
Can be thrown, teleports the player to the item's landing place.
Good for 100 uses.

Grappling Hook Gun
Fires a grappling hook more distance than throwing.
Requires 1 grappling hook placed anywhere in the main inventory.
Consumes 1 gunpowder placed anywhere in the main inventory.

Grenade
Can be thrown causing damage to the landscape in a 1 node radius
and player/entity damage (if configured) in a 5 node radius.
Consumes 1 grenade.

Rocket Gun
Fires a rocket causing damage to the landscape in a 2 node radius
and player/entity damage (if configured) in a 7 node radius.
Consumes 1 rocket placed anywhere in the main inventory.

Gun Turret
Shoots TNT, just play with it and see ;-)

Individual items can be disabled by adding a shooter.conf file,
see shooter.conf.example

I like the shotgun the best..but the turret gun is very cool :)
Would be even cooler if it could launch Shadowninja's Iron/Messa Nukes :)

Thanks for reporting this, however, I am unable to reproduce this in my own hybrid version (essentially 0.4.9 with most of the 0.4.10 features merged). My only guess is that it's something to do with setting the HUD crosshair when a player joins. Would someone please try out-commenting the last three lines of shooter.lua and let me know if the problem persists. Unfortunately, I still have no idea why this should be the case.

Yes this fixes the issue and you still get the special crosshairs
and the guns I tested still work.

Thanks for testing, though it's strange that the crosshair is still being shown I am pretty sure that has not always been the case but whatever, it looks like those lines are not required after all.

Nice mod but i have this error only with flaregun.

Your phone or window isn't wide enough to display the code box. If it's a phone, try rotating it to landscape mode.

That is an action, not an error. If the game crashes then please post the relevant output of debug.txt

I have nothing else in the file debug.txt before the crash. I tried putting only this mod and it works there. So there must be another mod that is incompatible with it.have only this before crash

Tested and works well with TenPlus1's version of the protector mod.

Note that protection support is disabled by default, you will need to set SHOOTER_ENABLE_PROTECTION = true
is your shooter.conf (if you don't already have this file then create it in the mod's main directory)
Enabling protection may cause a slight slow-down of explosions depending on which protection mod you use.

Mod update

Added a crossbow with directional arrows.
+ screenshot

Arrows will do damage to players/entities listed in SHOOTER_ENTITIES and will stick in all non-walkable nodes (walkable = false). They can be picked up again by punching them but will dissapear after a preset time (default 3 mins) or if they become unloaded, for whatever reason.

I wanted to have the arrows stick in players/mobs but this is currently not possible due to some bugs in the core entity attachment system. :/

Yes, you may use the source code under the terms of LGPL v2.1, however, the sound effects are licensed separately. Please see the LICENSE.txt for full details.

Mod Updated: version-0.5.3

Added coloured arrows

Regular white arrows can now be mixed with base dyes to create grey, black, red, yellow, green, cyan, blue and magenta arrows

Added admin super weapons
This change lets admins (people with server privilege) shoot guns automatically after <= 2 seconds if they hold left click without using munition.

Note: the latter must be enabled in shooter.conf by adding SHOOTER_ADMIN_WEAPONS = true.
See shooter.conf.example for all available config options.

Much of the credit goes to HybridDog for making these changes possible and to lightonflux for suggesting the coloured arrows.

I added smoke grenades, code is based of "grenade.lua" with some from "flare.lua" added in
also changed "init.lua" and "shooter.lua" to make it load like the other .luas
the particles could use some more tweaking though.
