[Mod] Galaxy Skybox [1.0.0] [galaxybox]

by Wuzzy » Sat Feb 07, 2015 17:08

Hi! This simple mod adds a simple skybox showing a dark and blueish galaxy. It also sets the light level for all players to a rather low level, regardless of the actual time, so make sure you bring plenty of lamps with you. ;-)
Sun, Moon and clouds will be removed as well.

Perfect for a dark and lonely atmosphere, for space games where the normal sun/moon cycle does not really make sense or just for general emptyness.

Warning: This mod is pretty large, the textures amount to about 1980 KiB, so think twice before using it on a server.

Coooool
Want to add a nice saturn?

I really do wish that someone might work on my wishlist for configurable multiple "sky objects"/satellites. ;-)

+ here's my old wishlist from the "Textureable sun and moon" thread

I actually just wanted a pure galaxy skybox.

Minetest doesn't show sun and moon when a texturized skybox is used. The clouds are also automatically disabled. So the only way would be to paste the image into the skybox itself, making Saturn static (like everything else).

But you could still do this for yourself by editing one of the texture files and pasting the image into it. For personal use.
I tried it by myself, but it didn't look too good for me.

As for your wishlist: Yeah, this would be great if someone added that.
